41: Chapter 41 Slaughter

Wang Wenjing was very fast; in less than a minute, she had brought three teammates into the living room.

After entrusting the family of three on the sofa to them, Lu Siye leaped out the window and chased toward the location of the light orb.

The further he went toward the light orb, the scarcer the surrounding buildings became.

It was clear that the person and the ghost were intentionally fleeing toward the outskirts, thinking that this would allow them to shake off Lu Siye's pursuit.

Unfortunately for them, Lu Siye would never let Hei Ming go; he could not allow an enemy that might threaten his life to remain hidden in the shadows.

Extermination was the greatest respect he could show his enemies.

A few minutes later, the surrounding buildings completely disappeared, and Lu Siye arrived above a forest.

He utilized Lingbo Microsteps, using the thin branches to gain leverage as he moved, his speed undiminished.

Although Lu Siye's Lingbo Microsteps were only at the Entry-Level stage, even at this level, one could traverse sheer cliffs as if walking on flat ground.

After another few minutes, Lu Siye finally caught up to the person and the ghost in a clearing within the forest.

"Where else do you plan to run?" Lu Siye shouted.

The blazing blood saber, infused with his Qi and blood, was hurled fiercely, transforming into a streak of red light that landed in front of them.

The immense force stirred up countless broken branches and fallen leaves, forcing the person and the ghost to stop.

[Damn it, how did he catch up so quickly! Fear Value + 597!]

[It's over, it's over; I'm afraid I'm going to die here today. Fear Value + 99!]

"Member of the Evil Suppression Bureau, leave a path for others to retreat so you can meet again in the future; don't push people too far!"

Hei Ming hurriedly turned to face Lu Siye; he dared not expose his back to his enemy, especially one capable of fighting across ranks.

The Ghost-Headed Infant hid behind Hei Ming, trembling with fear and not daring to speak, terrified that the man would notice it.

"Heh! Do you even deserve to be called human?" Lu Siye sneered.

He stepped forward, hot Qi and blood coalescing into a blade in his hand, and surging Yang Qi erupted from his body, covering the entire clearing, while a flame of Yang Fire manifested on his right shoulder.

[Damn it! I absolutely cannot fight him; I will definitely die. Fear Value + 999!]

"You really have stepped into the Night Wanderer rank!" Hei Ming's pupils constricted, his heart filled with extreme horror.

He grabbed the Ghost-Headed Infant behind him, threw it toward Lu Siye, and then turned and ran.

The last shred of Battle Intent in his heart completely dissipated upon knowing that Lu Siye had stepped into the Night Wanderer rank.

[Hei Ming, you deserve to die! Fear Value + 99!]

"No!" The Ghost-Headed Infant shrieked.

It looked at Lu Siye's grim expression and attempted to self-detonate its other arm to buy a chance to escape.

"Do you think you can use the same trick on me a second time?"

Lu Siye tilted his head to meet the Ghost-Headed Infant's eyes, arrived in front of it in an instant, and swung the blood blade in his hand, piercing its heart and pinning it to the ground.

"You've killed quite a few people, haven't you! It's time to pay your debts." Lu Siye grabbed the Ghost-Headed Infant's head with his large hand, and a terrifying suction force erupted.

"No!"

"Hei Ming, I curse you; you will definitely join me on the road to Yellow Springs." Before dying, the Ghost-Headed Infant shrieked with all its might, its voice filled with hatred echoing through the forest.

[Ding~ Ghost-Headed Infant (Evil Ghost) died, Fear Value + 100!]

In the darkness, Hei Ming moved through the trees like a mass of black mist; the moment he heard the sound, his whole body couldn't help but tremble.

[Damn it, that trash couldn't even stall him for half a minute. Fear Value + 768!]

Suddenly, a sinister voice sounded in Hei Ming's ear.

"Someone... oh no, that's not right, a ghost entrusted me with a task: to send you down to keep it company."

[He's here! He's here! Fear Value + 999!]

Hei Ming's heart stopped; he threw a punch in the direction the voice came from, only to find he had hit nothing.

"If your eyes are useless, I don't mind helping you dig them out." The sinister voice sounded in his ear again, this time even closer.

[...]

"Ah!" Hei Ming threw another full-force punch toward his side, but it struck the trunk of a nearby large tree, blowing apart an entire section of the trunk.

"Come out! If you have the guts, come out!" Hei Ming shouted wildly at his surroundings, completely losing his composure.

"As you wish, but what can you even do?" Lu Siye suddenly appeared in front of Hei Ming, startling him so much that he backed away and knocked over a tree that required one person to wrap their arms around.

"No... don't come over!" Hei Ming watched Lu Siye closing in step by step; he retreated continuously, his face filled with terror.

[...]

"No wonder Brother Meng said you were trash; with a Heart-Nature like yours, if you aren't trash, then who is?" Lu Siye's face showed mockery.

A cultivator actually getting scared to this state when encountering a crisis—no wonder his cultivation hadn't made any progress in four years.

"The lives of hundreds of infants, hundreds of families torn apart—it's time for you to pay this debt!" Lu Siye shouted angrily.

"Stop!" A hoarse voice came from the distance.

But Lu Siye ignored it; he took a step forward, like a wild elephant stomping the ground, the immense force driving into the earth, causing the ground to shake suddenly, and in an instant, Lu Siye appeared in front of Hei Ming.

He swung his blade, a thick, cascading red Saber Qi, carrying incomparably hot Qi and blood and Yang Qi, just like the blade strike seen in the Longevity Lock, splitting him and the tree in two.

[Ding~ Gao Song (Fierce Ghost) died, Fear Value + 1000!]

Boom!

The giant tree, split in two, collapsed with a roar, kicking up a cloud of dust and leaves.

Amidst the dust, a burly man over two meters tall walked out, with a skinny little dwarf sitting on his shoulder.

Although the burly man's appearance was no different from a normal person, Lu Siye could feel the thick resentment and corpse Qi within him.

"A zombie?" Lu Siye said gravely.

"How bold! You dare to kill my Star Lord of The Net right in front of me." The Dwarf spoke, his voice hoarse, sounding exactly like the voice that had just shouted to stop.

"So what if I killed him!" Lu Siye retreated a few steps, his hair standing on end.

Although the opponent's strength seemed far superior to his own, his attitude remained tough.

"Good, good, good!" The Dwarf on the burly man's shoulder laughed instead of getting angry, even clapping his hands.

Thick corpse Qi spread from the burly man, enveloping the three of them; the temperature of the surrounding environment dropped rapidly, and even a layer of frost formed on Lu Siye's body.

Lu Siye frowned deeply; his Qi, blood, and Yang Qi were completely outmatched in the clash with the corpse Qi, and parts of his body surface had already been completely invaded by the corpse Qi.

The gap in strength between the two sides was even greater than he had imagined.

"Kid, why haven't you knelt down after seeing a superior?" The Dwarf looked at the frost on Lu Siye's body, a cold, sinister smile appearing on his face.

An invisible pressure spread from his body, enveloping Lu Siye, attempting to force him to kneel on the spot.

"Sure! But the ground is a bit dirty; why don't you take your head off and let me use it as a cushion!"

"You've got a sharp tongue; let's see how long you can hold out." The Dwarf snorted coldly and applied pressure again.

Lu Siye gritted his teeth; even though his bones were overwhelmed and began to emit cracking sounds, his knees did not bend in the slightest.

"How can I, a member of the Evil Suppression Bureau, allow you vermin from The Net to run wild!" Suddenly, a cold, clear shout came from the direction of Tianhai City.

The cold, clear voice carried a hint of allure, and Lu Siye's deeply furrowed brow immediately relaxed; he knew who had arrived.
