6: Chapter 6 Enhancement! The Dragon Elephant Prajna Technique!

"Little brother, stretch out your hand," Shangguan Qingxue suddenly said to Lu Siye.

"What are you doing?" Lu Siye asked vigilantly.

"Don't worry, little brother. Big sister has no ill intent; I just want to test your talent," Shangguan Qingxue explained with a smile.

The fact that Lu Siye had previously been immune to her charm made her curious.

Although she had only used a small portion of her strength to cast the charm, it was not something an ordinary person could be immune to; only those with a powerful Divine Soul could remain unaffected by her charm.

And from the moment he entered until now, she had not sensed any traces of Cultivation on Lu Siye.

In other words, Lu Siye's Divine Soul strength was innate, and generally speaking, the higher one's innate Divine Soul strength, the stronger their talent for the Dao.

Therefore, her current action was simply driven by a desire to cherish talent.

Although Lu Siye did not know what was on the mind of this beautiful woman before him.

He knew that if she wanted to harm him, she could have done so imperceptibly without needing to act like this.

After concluding that she held no malice toward him, Lu Siye cooperated and extended his hand.

Shangguan Qingxue grabbed Lu Siye's palm and pulled out a palm-sized bagua mirror from somewhere, placing it in his hand.

"Close your eyes and relax your mind," Shangguan Qingxue said softly as she mobilized the True Qi in her body, injecting it into the bagua mirror in his hand.

The bagua mirror in Lu Siye's hand began to emit a faint light. After a dozen seconds, the Li trigram faintly glowed with a hint of red light, followed immediately by the Qian trigram glowing with a hint of gold. Both dimmed in less than ten seconds.

A trace of surprise appeared in Shangguan Qingxue's eyes. She had been testing people's talent for so many years, and she had never seen anyone with such poor talent as him.

Feeling the bagua mirror being taken from his hand, Lu Siye quickly opened his eyes and asked: "How is my talent?"

"Little brother, I think martial arts might be more suitable for you," Shangguan Qingxue said tactfully.

...

At eight in the morning, Lu Siye stood dazed at the entrance of the Public Security Bureau, holding soy milk and fried dough sticks.

The fantastic experiences of the night left his head spinning even now.

First, that iron tower of a Metal Squad captain, Meng Jianmin, told him he had no talent for the Dao, then tested his bone structure, only to immediately tell him he was a one-in-ten-thousand martial arts Genius.

Then he introduced the various benefits of joining the Evil Suppression Bureau, such as a monthly base salary of 100,000 for a Night Patrol Envoy, the most relaxed housing purchase discounts, and the Evil Suppression Bureau providing Cultivation Techniques, and so on.

The base salary for positions above Night Patrol Envoy was even higher, starting at 1 million, and if one performed well, the organization would directly gift them property.

With all the professional jargon, Lu Siye was left stunned.

Later, he thought about it. Although he possessed a System, he needed to torment Ghosts to gain Fear Points. Joining the Evil Suppression Bureau should allow him to better obtain information about Ghosts.

This way, he wouldn't have to busy himself every day analyzing various murder cases, speculating whether a Ghost was responsible.

Moreover, the Evil Suppression Bureau was a professional entity regarding paranormal events; their analysis of paranormal events would definitely be more accurate than his, and they would likely have strength estimates for the rampaging Ghosts.

If he were to analyze murder cases himself, not to mention the probability of coming up empty-handed, what if he encountered a Ghost he couldn't currently withstand? Wouldn't that be like delivering himself as a meal?

Furthermore, the Martial Arts Strengthening System sounded like it was for martial arts, and what was the most famous saying about practicing martial arts? "Literary arts for the poor, martial arts for the rich!"

Practicing martial arts couldn't be done without large amounts of medicine, which meant he needed a stable source of funds. The hundreds of thousands in compensation from his parents in his account probably wouldn't last a year for buying medicine.

Joining the Evil Suppression Bureau = money, leads, safety, and a legal practitioner identity; Not joining the Evil Suppression Bureau = no money, searching for leads yourself, danger, and an illegal practitioner identity.

Therefore, after weighing the pros and cons, Lu Siye agreed to join the Evil Suppression Bureau.

Subsequently, the other party downloaded an exorcism app onto his phone, instantly making him a reserve member of the Evil Suppression Bureau.

Then they gave him a thin copy of the Body Forging Art, claiming it was an introductory Cultivation Technique for martial arts, and told him to Cultivate it well.

They also gave him a 7,000 yuan bonus, saying it was a reward for killing the Delivery Ghost last night.

As for why they only gave so little money for one Ghost, it was because the number of low-level practitioners in the Evil Suppression Bureau currently exceeded the number of low-level Ghosts, so the price naturally couldn't go up.

However, even so, it was a new path to getting rich.

After joining the Evil Suppression Bureau, Lu Siye slept at the station for one night.

Until morning, when enthusiastic Public Security Officers stuffed a cup of soy milk and a few fried dough sticks into his hands, and then he was enthusiastically ushered out.

After finishing the breakfast in his hands, Lu Siye scanned a shared bike on the side of the road and headed toward the Tongjiang Residential Area.

When he was almost at the Tongjiang Residential Area, Lu Siye passed a roadside stall selling pirated Wuxia books, and as if possessed, he stopped.

Looking at the dozen or so pirated Wuxia books placed on a snake-skin bag, he suddenly thought of his System.

"System, can you strengthen martial arts Secret Manuals from Wuxia books?" Lu Siye asked in his mind.

"Yes! But only martial arts Cultivation Techniques that are described in sufficient detail within the books can be strengthened." The System's cold, emotionless voice sounded like music to his ears at that moment.

"Then can you strengthen immortality Cultivation Techniques from immortality novels?" he quickly asked.

"No!" The System's voice remained as ruthless as ever.

Although there was a little disappointment, he wasn't too down; after all, one should be content and happy.

He quickly got off the shared bike, came before the gray-haired stall owner, and squatted down.

He picked up a book placed on the very top, looked at it, and asked: "Boss, how are you selling these books?"

"Fifty each, no bargaining!" The boss extended five thin, bony fingers.

Lu Siye looked at the book in his hand, 《I Transmigrated to The Return of the Condor Heroes to Dominate the World》. Not only was the text quite clear, but he could even see some martial arts illustrations; it seemed to be the Dragon-Elephant Prajna Art.

"System, can this be strengthened into a Cultivation Technique?" Lu Siye asked in his mind.

"Yes!"

"Thirty, and if that's okay, I'll take them all," Lu Siye said with a wave of his hand, acting grandly.

"Deal!" The boss immediately agreed, his old face instantly crinkling into a smile like a withered chrysanthemum.

Damn! I offered too much!

Looking at the boss's expression, Lu Siye knew he had definitely lost out this time.

After paying with his phone and taking the pirated Wuxia books packed in a plastic bag, Lu Siye hurried toward the Tongjiang Residential Area.

Parking the shared bike at the nearest parking spot outside the residential area, Lu Siye carried the full bag of pirated novels and prepared to cross the road on foot.

He couldn't wait to try the System's strengthening function.

Suddenly, with a harsh screech, a black BMW stopped less than twenty centimeters away from him.

The driver of the BMW hurriedly got out of the car, came to Lu Siye's side, and looked at him nervously.

"Brother, are you okay? I didn't hit you, did I?" The middle-aged driver's face was pale, his forehead covered in cold sweat; he must have been scared just now.

"I'm fine!" Lu Siye shook his head.

It was he who had crossed the road without paying attention to his surroundings; he couldn't blame the driver.

"Good thing you're okay! Good thing you're okay!" The middle-aged driver wiped away cold sweat and returned to his car.

Lu Siye looked at the young woman in the passenger seat of the BMW who was staring straight at him; she must be the driver's wife.

Her face was also deathly pale; she looked like she had been quite frightened as well.

Scratching his head in embarrassment, Lu Siye watched the two of them leave.

A wealthy and polite middle-aged man; he deserved to have a beautiful wife.

After this little episode, Lu Siye became much more cautious, and a few minutes later, he returned to his room safely.

In the living room, Lu Siye couldn't wait to take 《I Transmigrated to The Return of the Condor Heroes to Dominate the World》 out of the pile of books, spread it open on the table, and silently thought in his heart: "Strengthen!"

"Does the Host wish to consume 20 Fear Points to strengthen 《I Transmigrated to The Return of the Condor Heroes to Dominate the World》?"

"Yes!" Lu Siye said with a firm tone.

The pirated novel laid on the table began to act as if it had gone mad.

The pages flipped rapidly, and the characters, figures, and paragraphs on them all seemed to come alive, erupting with a golden, divine radiance. Individual characters were dismantled and reorganized, and individual strokes were rearranged, moving as fast as a TV show fast-forwarded 32 times.

Two minutes later, the strengthening neared its end, and the light began to dissipate.

"Ding~ Strengthening successful. Congratulations to the Host for obtaining the first level of the Dragon-Elephant Prajna Art."

"Dragon-Elephant Prajna Art! Only the first level? I was wondering why it required so few Fear Points; so that's where the catch was," Lu Siye couldn't help but complain.

He knew the Dragon-Elephant Prajna Art; this martial arts Secret Manual originated from Jin Yong's Wuxia novels and was a martial art from 《The Return of the Condor Heroes》.

It was a peerless Secret Manual recorded in the 《Dragon-Elephant Prajna Sutra》, belonging to the supreme Protector divine art of the Tibetan Esoteric Sect. The Realm was divided into thirteen levels. Its external technique could make palm force powerful, domineering, and overwhelmingly fierce. Each level cultivated added the strength of one Dragon and one Elephant. After cultivating to the tenth level, one possessed the immense strength of ten Dragons and ten Elephants.

Buddhism highly revered Dragons and Elephants.

They believed that Dragons had great strength in water, and Elephants had great strength on land, so they were often used as metaphors for those who cultivated bravely and possessed the greatest ability.

《Mahaparinirvana Sutra》 Volume 2: "World-Honored One, I have now, with the great Dragon-Elephant Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas, severed all defilements."

Tang Dynasty Wang Bo's 《Preface to the Records of the Dharmagupta Vinaya Sect》: "When the two extremes are thoroughly understood, only then is the honor of Reality known; when the ten Realms are influenced by the wind, only then is the value of Thusness recognized. It will make the Dragon-Elephant monastics, bright and capable."

Tang Dynasty Luo Yin's poem 《After the Fire at Ganlu Temple》: "Only saying that Ghosts and gods can protect things, not knowing that Dragons and Elephants themselves turn to ash."

From these few words passed down by predecessors above, one could see how much Buddhism revered Dragons and Elephants.

Lu Siye did not expect that this one pirated novel would give him such a big surprise.

He couldn't wait to pick up the book, and the original title had already changed to the five gold-stamped characters of Dragon-Elephant Prajna Art.

Lu Siye turned to the first page and began to read the introduction of the Dragon-Elephant Prajna Art.
