90: Chapter 90 Catching a Turtle in a Jar

"Hiss! Can you stop grabbing me by the neck next time? My neck feels like it's about to break." Fang Lanyue rubbed her neck and said with a look of grievance.

"Can't help it, who told you to be so slow!" Lu Siye shrugged.

[Ah!!! You actually despise me! Energy Points +777!]

Ignoring Fang Lanyue, who was stomping her feet in secret behind him, he focused his attention on the school before them.

"It really is a Ghost Wall at the Fierce Ghost level!" Lu Siye concentrated Yang Qi into his eyes and saw that incredibly pitch-black curtain.

His perception was completely blocked outside by this Ghost Wall, unable to detect even a shred of the situation inside.

Lu Siye came to the edge of the Ghost Wall curtain, circulated the Bei Ming Divine Art, then reached out and placed his hand on it.

A massive suction force erupted from his Dantian, and the Yin Qi on it began to be continuously drawn away; a small vortex began to gradually form.

After more than half a minute, Lu Siye removed his palm from it.

He had absorbed Yin Qi for quite a while, yet the Fierce Ghost inside didn't seem angry at all. Better to just break it open directly, lest the cooked duck flies away.

"Get ready!" Lu Siye said to Fang Lanyue behind him.

"Prepare for what?"

"After I break open this Ghost Wall, you immediately patch it up with your own Ghost Wall. Let's catch a turtle in a jar."

"Oh, okay!" Fang Lanyue nodded and silently retreated into the distance.

Lu Siye took down the saber box from his back and grasped the blazing blood saber inside.

...

On the flag-raising square inside the school, five people were supporting each other, stumbling towards the school gate.

All five of them carried severe injuries, with fresh blood constantly dripping from their wounds. Most of their Yang Qi had been drained, and their True Qi was nearing exhaustion.

In the darkness behind them, footsteps constantly echoed, yet no figure could be seen.

"Damn it! He's toying with us." Someone turned their head to look, their face full of rage.

The gap between a Night Patrol Envoy and a Fierce Ghost was truly vast; they had been crushed by the opponent in just one exchange earlier in the Teaching Building.

Most of the Talismans they carried couldn't hurt the opponent at all, and the ones that could pose a threat couldn't land a hit.

If it weren't for the opponent's twisted sense of humor and intent to toy with them, let alone five people escaping, not even one of them would have made it out.

"Let's just go back and fight him to the death!"

"How much of your strength is left? What are you going to fight with? We can't win; we're all going to die here today!" Someone had already begun to despair.

They were like prey that had been severely injured but released, and no matter how much they struggled, it was merely to amuse the hunter behind them.

"How long has it been since we came in?" Long Feiyuan, who was being supported by two team members, raised his head and asked weakly.

A stench of a corpse had already begun to emanate from his body; the curse had already eroded into his internal organs.

"About ten minutes or so!" said the team member supporting him.

She didn't understand what the point of her captain asking this was.

"It's about time. Keep running; we still have a glimmer of hope. If we don't run, we'll all die!" Long Feiyuan endured the excruciating pain in his body and spoke again.

"Hope! I don't see any hope!" the desperate team member from before began to roar.

"Shut up, cough, cough... This is an order." Long Feiyuan coughed out a mouthful of blood filled with a rotten stench and barked furiously at that team member.

The team member who had been yelled at immediately shut his mouth.

As the captain, he knew that as long as more than half of their team members lost signal for over ten minutes, the Evil Suppression Bureau System would automatically request support from the Night Wanderer in charge of this area.

With the strength of a Night Wanderer, even if coming from the farthest point of the responsible area, it wouldn't take long.

However, he couldn't say this out loud because if he did, not only would his team members be listening, but the Fierce Ghost behind them would be listening too.

At that point, it would truly be certain death with no chance of survival.

"I thought I'd get to see humans infighting, but it didn't happen. This is so boring!" An eerie voice rang out from the darkness behind them.

A pale skeleton appeared from the distance and slowly walked towards them.

"Damn it!" Several team members retreated repeatedly, fear appearing on their faces.

"Heh! You're anxious! This time, we won!" Long Feiyuan raised his head, his face covered in corpse spots facing the Skeleton Fierce Ghost before him.

A large amount of Yin Qi erupted from the Skeleton Fierce Ghost, extending its body and clothing over its own skeleton.

It transformed from a skeleton into a middle-aged man wearing a long gown and jacket, with a hat on his head.

"No, no, no, it's you who should be anxious!" A sinister smile appeared on the man's face.

"Is that so? Then why did the Ghost Wall barrier manifest on its own?" Long Feiyuan struggled to raise his finger and pointed toward the location of the school gate.

"You're courting death!" Seeing that his cover was blown, the man decided not to pretend anymore.

He turned into an afterimage and lunged towards the five of them; his speed was so fast that they couldn't react at all.

Suddenly, a massive, waterfall-like crimson Saber Qi, carrying an incredibly scorching aura, tore directly through the Ghost Wall barrier and struck the middle-aged man in the blink of an eye.

Bang!

The middle-aged man was slammed into the flag-raising platform in the distance by the immense impact force. A huge explosion erupted, and the concrete flag-raising platform shattered instantly.

And at the school gate, two figures, one tall and one short, stood there, an oppressive aura radiating from them.

"Fang Lanyue."

"Understood!"

Fang Lanyue nodded, and a pitch-black Ghost Wall expanded from her, instantly covering half the school, including the square.

"Finally here!" Long Feiyuan finally breathed a sigh of relief and passed out completely.

"Captain!" the four people around him exclaimed.

Swish!

Lu Siye suddenly appeared in front of Long Feiyuan and raised his hand to tap his glabella.

Boundless Yang Qi washed over his body, dispelling the Yin Qi within him and maintaining that faint glimmer of Life Qi.

As for the problem of the curse on Long Feiyuan, Lu Siye was not an expert in this area and could only leave it to the Evil Suppression Bureau to handle.

"He's fine, he won't die!" Lu Siye said to the five people.

"Thank you, thank you, Night Patrol Envoy Lu!" Everyone wept with joy.

They had all seen photos of Lu Siye, as the area they patrolled was within his jurisdiction.

Lu Siye stuck the blazing blood saber into the ground and said to them, "Hold onto this saber hilt; I've left some Yang Qi on it. Don't go dying on me."

"Thank you, Night Patrol Envoy Lu!" Several people hurriedly thanked him again.

[Skeleton Fierce Ghost is furious, which little punk dares to ambush me? Energy Points +999!]

"You deserve to die!" A roar erupted from within the collapsed flag-raising platform.

A skeleton covered in dust clawed through the surrounding rubble and walked out from within.
