94: Chapter 94 Heads on the Ground

"No way?" A chill rose from Shi Yimin's back, making him shiver uncontrollably.

"It can't be that unlucky!" Shi Yimin said with a mournful face.

However, he did not lose his composure. After all, having encountered Ghosts so many times, he had gained at least some experience.

Now, he had to save himself immediately.

He quickly wiped his palms dry, picked up his phone, and hurriedly found a contact saved as 'Lifesaver' to send a message.

'Help! I think I've encountered a Ghost again. I'm in Room 404 of XX Hotel.'

After sending the message, he put on his clothes as fast as he could and pushed open the bathroom door.

The room, which had been clean, tidy, and brightly lit, had now turned pitch black. A faint scent of damp rot could be smelled in the air.

"Thank goodness the shoes are still here."

Shi Yimin glanced down at the shoes on the floor and put them on with the fastest speed of his life.

He tied the shoelaces tightly to ensure that if there was a segment where he had to run for his life, the laces wouldn't hold him back.

"Tongtong, are you still there?"

Shi Yimin called out in a low voice, but still received no response. It was likely that things were looking grim.

The darkness in the room was extremely abnormal, like a monster that could devour light. His phone's flashlight could only barely illuminate things within a one-meter radius in front of him.

"Tongtong?"

While calling out softly, Shi Yimin felt his way along the walls to search the entire room, but he still didn't see Tongtong's figure.

It was a true case of not seeing a living person, nor a dead body.

He arrived at the room door again, reached out to grab the doorknob, and tried to see if it could be opened.

The doorknob could turn, but the door before him seemed to be one with the wall; no matter what, it wouldn't pull open.

It's over. I've really encountered a Ghost.

Indeed, blessings never come in pairs, but misfortunes never come singly. The ancients did not deceive me!

Now, Shi Yimin felt extremely regretful. I shouldn't have made that flag back then.

"Minmin, what are you doing at the door?" Suddenly, Tongtong's voice came from behind Shi Yimin.

"Ah!" Shi Yimin screamed in fright.

He whipped his head around to look, but there was nothing behind him.

He had clearly searched the entire room, and Tongtong was not here. Why was her voice appearing?

"Minmin, where are you looking? I'm here!" In the darkness, Tongtong's voice came again.

The voice was full of confusion and didn't sound fake.

Could it be that I have been affected by Ghostly Blindness? Is everything I see before me not real?

"Tongtong, where are you?" Shi Yimin asked after hesitating for a moment.

"I'm right here at the head of the bed!"

"Okay, don't move. Wait for me to come over," Shi Yimin said nervously.

He felt along the wall, slowly moving forward with the help of the dim light, and accidentally kicked the cabinet by the bed when he reached the head of the bed.

"Ouch! You kicked me!" Tongtong exclaimed, as if she had truly been kicked.

"Tongtong, don't scare me. Where exactly are you?" Shi Yimin's voice trembled slightly.

The space at the head of the bed was empty; there was simply no sign of Tongtong.

"I'm right here!" The voice sounded again.

This time, Shi Yimin heard it clearly. Tongtong's voice was coming from inside this bedside cabinet.

He shone his phone's light over there, but below the cabinet, he saw a head without eyes. Scarlet blood was continuously flowing from the empty eye sockets, and beneath the head was a large pool of blood.

"Minmin, it's so cold on the floor. Hug me!" The head in the pool of blood, as if unaware that it was already dead, was still saying this with its mouth opening and closing.

Shi Yimin's brain instantly shut down, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted on the spot.

...

Deep in the night, on the street, Lu Siye walked idly with Fang Lanyue.

Ever since he finished dealing with that malicious Ghost at the Third Middle School, in the following half hour or so, he had only encountered a few small evil Ghosts.

After conveniently squeezing a wave of energy points, he didn't encounter any more Ghosts for the rest of the time.

It wasn't because the number of Ghosts appearing wasn't high enough; on the contrary, the number of Ghosts appearing this night was several times higher than usual.

Most of the Night Patrol Envoy squads had suffered varying degrees of losses; some had half their members killed or injured, and some had even been completely wiped out.

However, after that group of Night Patrol Envoy at the Peak broke through to become Night Wanderer, knowing the urgency of the situation, they didn't even have time to consolidate their cultivation before rushing out to patrol.

That bunch of animals was too fast. Having just broken through, they were like they had been injected with adrenaline, filled with the hatred of avenging their teammates, and were howling as they hunted down the Ghosts.

Even the last two small evil Ghosts he got were snatched from the hands of his colleagues.

In less than half an hour, those foolish Ghosts that had exposed their own Qi and gone on a killing spree were mostly dead.

The remaining Ghosts had started to become smart and no longer exposed their existence casually.

"Hmm!? It smells so good!" Suddenly, Lu Siye smelled the aroma of barbecue.

He looked in the direction from which the aroma was drifting. In a square in the distance, a row of barbecue stalls was lined up like a long dragon.

Lu Siye recognized that place. That was Yimin Square, a famous barbecue spot in the West District of Tianhai City.

"Barbecue!" After smelling the aroma, Fang Lanyue had already started to walk toward there, unable to control herself.

She loved eating barbecue the most when she was alive!

As she walked, she suddenly stopped, turned her head, and looked pitifully at Lu Siye.

"Go, go ahead!" Lu Siye waved his hand at her.

He had no intention of restricting Fang Lanyue's freedom. After all, this girl had contributed quite a few energy points to him tonight, so he would let her be for a while.

Lu Siye rubbed his stomach. The aroma stimulated him so much that he felt a bit hungry himself.

Since he couldn't find any Ghosts for the time being, he might as well treat himself!

The two walked quickly to the barbecue stall, and Fang Lanyue had already eagerly crowded over.

"Achoo!"

"Did I catch a cold? Why do I suddenly feel a bit cold?" The owner of the barbecue stall only felt a chill strike him and couldn't help but sneeze.

The flames in the charcoal fire in front of him had obviously diminished significantly.

Fang Lanyue was no longer human now; she couldn't eat barbecue and could only drift between the various barbecue stalls to smell the aroma.

Lu Siye released his perception. As long as Fang Lanyue remained within his range of perception, he wouldn't bother with her.

Afterwards, he also came to the barbecue stall and casually selected a few meat skewers.

Just as the owner finished grilling his meat skewers and handed them to him, the phone in his pocket vibrated.

At the same time, Lu Siye seemed to have discovered something; he looked up at a hotel in the distance.

He seemed to have just sensed a faint trace of Yin Qi over there, but the distance was too far, and the feeling wasn't very clear.

He took out his phone and saw that it was a message from his unlucky neighbor, Shi Yimin.

This unlucky guy wouldn't have encountered a Ghost again, would he!

He opened the message and saw, just as expected!

'Help! I think I've encountered a Ghost again. I'm in Room 404 of XX Hotel.'
