While eating, Chen Cheng received an unexpected phone call.

It was from Fang Sijin.

"Mr. Chen, I am truly sorry about today. Because of my personal matters, I delayed your house viewing and affected your mood."

"Please let me know when you are free; I would like to apologize to you in person."

Chen Cheng frowned, wondering what Fang Sijin was up to.

Thinking back on today's house viewing process, Xu Wenchang seemed to have arranged for a specific person to lead the tour for each property.

It seemed they were pre-assigned; whoever's listing sold would get the commission.

Fang Sijin's listing was delayed due to her issues, so they didn't even get to see it.

Was she calling because she was unwilling to let it go?

Chen Cheng thought for a moment and said, "Come over now. I'm at..."

Since he had nothing else to do, he wanted to see how Fang Sijin would turn things around.

Besides, Chen Cheng actually quite liked her.

Not long after, Fang Sijin arrived.

As soon as Fang Sijin entered the private room, she approached with a smile, still apologizing, "Mr. Chen, I am truly sorry about today."

Chen Cheng smiled. "No need to be so polite. Everyone has their own business; it's understandable."

He pointed to the seat on his right. "Have a seat."

As he spoke, Chen Cheng looked up and waved his hand at Eleven and Brother Sheng.

Eleven and Brother Sheng immediately stood up and left the private room.

They didn't say a single word the entire time.

Two words.

Professional.

Chen Cheng looked at Fang Sijin with a smile. "Store Manager Fang, it's so late. You didn't come just to apologize, did you?"

"Ahem~" Fang Sijin was all smiles but seemed a bit embarrassed. "It's like this, Mr. Chen. Since you've already placed a deposit, I shouldn't be bothering you."

"But I have a property listing that is exceptionally good and very suitable for a successful entrepreneur like yourself."

"In order not to let a pearl remain hidden, I took the liberty of bothering you."

Fang Sijin's wave of flattery made Chen Cheng laugh.

It felt like if he didn't let her speak, he'd be losing out on billions.

"Store Manager Fang, you might as well tell me about it. Since it's late and I've got nothing else to do."

Fang Sijin was delighted. She took out her phone and handed it to Chen Cheng. "This unit is located at North Bund. It's a top-floor duplex with a front-row river view, spanning 1,288 square meters."

Whoa, over a thousand square meters.

If this were sold, a commission of over a million for Fang Sijin would be no problem at all.

Chen Cheng frowned. Fang Sijin had missed out on a deal this afternoon, and she really was unwilling to let it go.

Chen Cheng looked at the information on the phone.

Truth be told, he was feeling tempted again.

The video only showed the living room, but it was already shocking enough.

The entire living and dining area had a high ceiling, with floor-to-ceiling glass estimated to be eight or nine meters high, overlooking the river.

The view was very expansive; one could see Financial Street directly from the living room.

Chen Cheng handed the phone back to Fang Sijin. His face was expressionless, showing no emotion, as he just gave a faint nod.

"The layout looks good, but the location is a bit lacking."

Fang Sijin's heart skipped a beat.

This unit was at North Bund, which was almost at the mouth of the Huangpu River.

The location was indeed not as good as the one in Binjiang Garden that he had put a deposit on this afternoon.

Chen Cheng, as if possessed by an Oscar-winning Best Actor, put on a troubled expression. "How about this? If we can see it tonight, we'll go take a look."

"If we can't, then forget it. It wasn't meant to be."

"I don't like doing business that isn't meant to be."

"Yes! We can see it!" Fang Sijin stood up excitedly.

"Since I came to find you, Mr. Chen, I naturally came prepared."

She looked at Chen Cheng with a smile. "Mr. Chen, we can see it tonight. I brought the keys."

"We can?" Chen Cheng looked at her suspiciously.

Fang Sijin nodded seriously.

The corner of Chen Cheng's mouth curled. You probably have no idea what I really want to see.

"Then let's go take a look."

In about ten minutes, they arrived at the '1288' property Fang Sijin recommended.

Fang Sijin led him around. Chen Cheng's first impression was that it was big—damn big.

Ten bedrooms and six living rooms, with a KTV and a private cinema. It was ridiculous.

After looking around, Chen Cheng plopped down on a rocking chair in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.

Looking out, the entire night view of Magic City was laid out before him—the neon lights of the Huangpu River banks and the dazzling Financial Street.

At this moment, if there were a little maid on the left pouring wine and a little handmaiden on the right feeding him fruit, he would probably feel like he owned the world.

Seeing Chen Cheng's look of enjoyment, Fang Sijin's lips curled up slightly.

In her view, when a client showed such an expression, the deal was at least half-done.

Chen Cheng tilted his head toward Fang Sijin, who was waiting nearby, and asked 'curiously', "Do you really owe that woman money?"

"Uh..." Fang Sijin pondered for a while and said with a bitter smile, "I probably owe her for several lifetimes."

"Hmm?" Chen Cheng waved his hand, signaling her to continue.

Fang Sijin thought Chen Cheng was enjoying the awe of the house, unaware that Scum was more interested in the joy of maid outfits.

He was already setting his sights on her.

What a salesperson fears least is a client willing to listen to them talk.

Fang Sijin's eyes darted around. She glanced at the curious Chen Cheng and suddenly had an idea.

Thinking it might be an unconventional approach, she thought for a moment and said:

"She gave birth to me."

"What do you mean she gave birth to you? Isn't that just your mother?"

"She doesn't deserve the title," Fang Sijin said, gritting her teeth at the mention of Pan Guiyu.

Chen Cheng smiled. "What's wrong with you, her 'little cotton-padded jacket'? How can there be such deep-seated hatred between a mother and daughter?"

Fang Sijin gave a self-deprecating laugh. "Mr. Chen, do you know what my name is?"

"Fang Sijin, of course." Chen Cheng feigned surprise. "Do you have another name?"

Fang Sijin shook her head with a light laugh. "There are five children in our family, and I am the fourth. I have three older sisters and a younger brother."

"After she gave birth to me and found out it was another girl, the first thing she thought of was to throw me into a well and drown me."

"It was my grandfather who happened to see it and saved me."

Fang Sijin sighed. "For a child the family didn't want, it's already good enough to be given a name."

Having finished, Fang Sijin raised an eyebrow, reached out her hand to Chen Cheng, and said with a smile, "Hello, Mr. Chen. Let's get reacquainted."

"I am the fourth child of the Fang family who didn't even die after they tried to throw me into a well—Fang Sijing. 'Si' as in the number four, and 'Jing' as in a water well."

The corner of Chen Cheng's mouth turned up. They say one shouldn't wash dirty laundry in public, but Fang Sijin was certainly going all out.

She was currently one step away from being driven to jump off a building by Pan Guiyu.

Dignity?

What dignity was left?

Chen Cheng: "So, did you give her the million?"

Fang Sijin shook her head. "Where would I get that much money? If I don't give it, she'll come to the store and cause a scene every day. Driven into a corner, I gave her 200,000."

As she spoke, Fang Sijin gave a bitter laugh. "After giving it to her, I only have 342 yuan left in my pocket."

Chen Cheng frowned and didn't respond to her.

Since she had shown her cards, he stopped pretending and asked:

"How about I make up the remaining 800,000 for you?"
