But in the flashes of memory in her mind...

That sensation of flying to the clouds, a feeling she had never experienced in her life, made her subconsciously swallow her saliva.

Suddenly, clarity returned to Gu Jia's eyes.

"How could I be so stupid as to go talk business with a lecher Li Ke Old Wan?"

"And so foolish as to not eat a single bite, but instead down three whole pots of tea."

Gu Jia held her head, a wave of regret and self-blame washing over her; she felt she had betrayed Xu Huanshan.

Often, it's Li Ke this: when one finds they cannot blame one party...

They subconsciously seek a new outlet.

And Old Wan, the culprit who triggered this whole mess, became the scapegoat in Gu Jia's heart for this story.

Actually, Gu Jia wasn't wrong to blame him.

Yesterday, Gu Jia had made an appointment but ended up arriving late, which made Old Wan a bit angry while he waited.

Before Gu Jia arrived, Old Wan had specifically added a very small dose of an aphrodisiac to the drink.

After the fact, Chen Cheng, feeling as detached as a saint or a Buddha, reviewed the various suspicious points and realized something was wrong; he couldn't figure it out.

Only then did he remember to use his Eye of Health to scan Gu Jia.

As it turned out, Chen Cheng really did find the reason.

There was still a very small amount of Amphetamine residue in Gu Jia's body.

This substance, also known as CY, can enhance a person's tactile perception system, which in turn generates an urgent desire for physical contact with the opposite sex.

Normally, this amount wouldn't have been an issue.

But then Chen Cheng went and wiped Gu Jia's face, touched her back, and held her close.

This indirectly intensified the desire deep within Gu Jia.

Subsequently, the incident where Gu Jia took the initiative occurred...

However, Chen Cheng certainly wasn't going to speak of this matter.

In any case, he wasn't the one who initiated it.

The fact that Gu Jia could move meant she was conscious.

As a veteran in the field of romance, Chen Cheng knew very well that once Gu Jia woke up, she would definitely be able to recall fragments of last night.

As long as it proved he hadn't forced her, that was enough.

Gu Jia sat on the bed in frustration for a while, then wiped away her tears.

She glanced at the head of the bed, where three sets of clothes in different styles were laid out, complete from innerwear to outerwear.

Gu Jia's eyes flickered; without putting on any clothes, she wrapped herself in a thin quilt and walked out.

Her body felt sticky, and she didn't want to ruin the fresh clothes.

With a quick scan of the hallway, she knew immediately that she was on the floor directly above her own home.

Room 1301!

Chen Cheng's apartment.

After looking around and finding that Chen Cheng wasn't in the house, Gu Jia actually breathed a sigh of relief.

On the kitchen island, a white plate was placed upside down.

Gu Jia flipped it over to find eggs, bacon, a peach open-faced sandwich, asparagus, honey pomelo, and kiwi.

Next to the food was a note: 'Had the clubhouse downstairs deliver this. There's soy milk in the pot. Eat some if you Li Ke, I'll be back soon!'

At the end, a smiley face was drawn.

"This guy, his handwriting is actually quite nice!"

The corner of Gu Jia's mouth unconsciously curved into a slight smile.

She reached out, tore off the note, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it into the nearby trash can.

She looked up at the milk pot on the island's induction cooker.

She picked it up and poured a cup of still-warm soy milk into the prepared glass, gulping it down greedily.

She had lost too much fluid last night and hadn't replenished it for seven or eight hours; she was incredibly thirsty.

She hadn't eaten anything last night either, and her stomach was growling loudly.

Just as she was about to appease her stomach...

Gu Jia remembered she hadn't gone home all night. Her house must be in total chaos by now.

She stood up and hurriedly searched for her phone.

She found it right behind her on the kitchen appliance counter, plugged in and charging.

Gu Jia picked it up and saw 10 missed calls: eight from Xu Huanshan and two from her best friend, Zhong Xiaoqin.

"Whew~"

Gu Jia exhaled, forcing herself to calm down before calling Xu Huanshan back.

As soon as the call connected, Xu Huanshan's roar came through, "If you're going out with your friend, can't you tell me in advance?"

"I couldn't even reach you on your phone."

Gu Jia was stunned. Her friend?

However, Gu Jia reacted quickly, immediately connecting it to Zhong Xiaoqin's missed calls.

She quickly switched to green bubble and immediately saw a large number of chat records between 'herself' and Zhong Xiaoqin.

Gu Jia's mouth twitched; how could she not know this was Chen Cheng's handiwork?

She gave a sheepish smile. "I'm sorry, Hubby. I accidentally drank too much."

As she spoke, Gu Jia changed the subject. "Anyway, Hubby... didn't you say you didn't want to work with President Wan anymore?"

"Then let's not work with President Wan."

"We'll look for new clients."

Upon hearing 'President Wan', Xu Huanshan's tone on the other end immediately softened.

This major client was lost when he took Li Ke to negotiate the cooperation; Old Wan had forced Li Ke to drink, causing the talks to collapse.

Xu Huanshan sounded embarrassed. "So, did you go to talk to President Wan yesterday?"

Gu Jia gave an "Mhm". "But in the end, the talks fell through."

"I'm sorry, Hubby."

Xu Huanshan felt a wave of shame.

He was the source of this whole thing; Gu Jia had gone to clean up the mess after his impulsive behavior.

And actually, he knew Gu Jia had gone to find Old Wan.

If he hadn't called Zhong Xiaoqin and heard her say she was with Gu Jia, even receiving a photo of Gu Jia fast asleep...

Xu Huanshan would have thought he'd been cheated on and would have gone to 'fight to the death' with Old Wan.

Fortunately, Zhong Xiaoqin said Gu Jia was under a lot of pressure and wanted to vent, so she drank a bit too much.

She told him not to come pick her up and to let Gu Jia relax properly.

Xu Huanshan said guiltily, "Between us, there's no need for apologies."

Gu Jia nodded and chatted for a few more moments. "...Mhm... I'm fine... I'll be back later."

After hanging up, Gu Jia took a deep breath.

Her eyes flickered as she re-read the chat history between 'herself' and Zhong Xiaoqin.

She curled her lip. "This person is just too... wicked."

For a moment, Gu Jia couldn't find the right word to describe Chen Cheng's absolute meticulousness.

She dithered for a while, unable to think of a good solution.

Gu Jia sat down anyway and hurriedly satisfied her hunger.

No carbs, only protein; it wasn't very filling at all.

After a whole night, she was truly starving.

After eating, Gu Jia regained some strength and walked back into the room she had just come out of.

She tossed the quilt onto the bed and turned into the bathroom.

In the bathroom, bath towels, hand towels, a toothbrush, toothpaste... everything was provided, and all of it was new.

Gu Jia turned on the shower, waited for the right temperature, and stepped in.

She applied body wash and scrubbed her body vigorously.

She wanted to wash away all traces of the lovemaking.

Although Gu Jia had been the one to take the initiative, Chen Cheng had still been very discreet.

There were no marks left on her face or neck.

However, the hickeys on her chest were extremely obvious and couldn't be removed in a short time.

Looking at the marks she couldn't wipe away, Gu Jia rubbed her chest with disdain.

She turned off the shower, stepped out, and used a towel to dry her hair.

Then she dried her body with the bath towel, wrapped herself in it, and stood in front of the mirror to brush her teeth.

Suddenly, Gu Jia saw herself in the mirror; her hair, damp from the water, clung obediently to her body.

Her whole being radiated a sense of languidness.

The dark circles on her face had vanished overnight, and even the pores on her face were much finer, making her look incredibly supple.

It was as if she had suddenly aged backward by four or five years.

Most crucial were her eyes; they were watery and full of a spring-Li Ke luster, making her entire person exude an astounding charm.

"How is this possible?"
