"Brother Cheng, originally my parents, Miao Miao's parents, and Xiao Qi's mother all wanted to come visit you."

"But they were worried you'd be too busy with many people during New Year and didn't want to disturb you."

"So they sent the three of us instead."

"To give you New Year greetings and also wish you a happy housewarming."

Chen Cheng smiled and waved his hand. "Alright, come inside first. It's freezing out here."

It had snowed last night, so the roads were wet and the temperature was several degrees lower than a few days ago.

"Hehe~" The three of them chuckled and followed Chen Cheng into the courtyard.

"Did you drive here?" Chen Cheng asked, raising an eyebrow at Jiang Tianhao.

Jiang Tianhao nodded. "Yeah, we set off early in the morning, as early as when we have to get up for school."

Chen Cheng smiled exasperatedly. You have the nerve to mention school?

He curled his lip. "You're quite brave, driving on the highway just a few months after getting your license."

Jiang Tianhao puffed out his chest proudly. "Brother Cheng, don't worry, my skills are top-notch. I've been driving basically every day since I got my license."

"Besides, this is what I do for a living now. You have to trust my professionalism."

Chen Cheng smiled. "Fine, just remember you're not the only one in the car."

"Wow, Brother Cheng, your house has such a big fish pond."

While speaking, Lin Miaomiao marveled at the koi swimming nearby.

Chen Cheng's mouth twitched. "If you don't watch where you're going, you'll be swimming in there too."

"Giggle giggle~" Deng Xiaoqi couldn't help but laugh out loud.

The four of them chatted and laughed as they entered the living room.

As soon as they entered, Chen Cheng's eyes lit up; Xiao Ye had actually come downstairs.

She had even combed her hair and changed into a grey checkered Chanel-style knit cardigan paired with a blue lazy-style loose pleated midi skirt.

It looked like she had even washed her face and put on lipstick.

"Ahhh, Sister Xiao Ye!" Lin Miaomiao ran toward Xiao Ye the moment she saw her.

Xiao Ye wore a bright smile. "Miao Miao, Happy New Year."

"Sister Xiao Ye, Happy New Year to you too."

Looking at Lin Miaomiao's scatterbrained personality, Chen Cheng's mouth twitched; it was all embarrassing history.

He turned to Jiang Tianhao and Deng Xiaoqi. "You two, make yourselves at home."

"Would you like something to drink?"

Jiang Tianhao didn't stand on ceremony. "Brother Cheng, water is fine for me."

Deng Xiaoqi raised her eyebrows and wasn't polite either. "Brother Cheng, I want a Coke."

"During the Art exams a while back, my mom wouldn't even let me have milk tea. I thought I'd be free after the exams," she pouted aggrievedly, "but it's actually gotten worse."

Chen Cheng smiled and shook his head. "Quitting sugar is good; it's good for your skin."

Deng Xiaoqi's face fell, feeling even more aggrieved.

Chen Cheng changed his tune. "But it's New Year today. It won't be too late to quit after the holidays."

A smile finally bloomed on Deng Xiaoqi's face, her heart feeling sweet as she looked at Chen Cheng.

Chen Cheng got drinks for the three of them from the fridge.

He sat on the sofa, turned on the TV, and asked casually, "Where's Qian Sanyi?"

"Oh~" Lin Miaomiao replied with wide eyes, "He went to his grandfather's place."

Chen Cheng nodded. Qian Sanyi didn't get along with him very well anyway.

Qian Sanyi was a scientific research Celestial Dragon who could write an essay titled 'My Academician Grandfather.'

Having been raised with traditional scholar's etiquette and hating his father for having a mistress, it was normal for him to look down on Chen Cheng.

During the last move, a bunch of women had come to Huaihai Road. None of these four were truly fools; even Lin Miaomiao probably saw through it.

It was natural for Qian Sanyi to be ashamed to associate with him.

Unfortunately, Qian Sanyi didn't know...

Jiang Tianhao sat on the sofa and placed the things they brought on the coffee table one by one.

"Brother Cheng, this is a tea set from Uncle Lin. He said you might need it for your new house."

Chen Cheng glanced at it and immediately recognized its origin. He turned to Lin Miaomiao. "Ru ware?"

Lin Miaomiao nodded. "Yeah, I asked a classmate to buy it locally."

Chen Cheng frowned slightly. "Thank your father for me when you go back. He's very thoughtful."

This was a set of Ru kiln sky-blue glazed porcelain. The glaze contained agate, and the color was verdant and lustrous, with a thick, glossy finish. It was very beautiful.

It probably cost a lot of money.

Jiang Qilong sent a bottle of 12-year Penfolds.

Why didn't he send French red wine? Jiang Tianhao had probably seen Chen Cheng's wine cellar before and deliberately had his old man pick a bottle that wasn't in the collection.

Deng Half-City sent an ink wash painting depicting a Jiangnan water town—fields, rivers, small bridges, weeping willows, and houses with black tiles and white walls.

It was likely commissioned specifically, as it perfectly matched the scenery of Chen Cheng's hometown.

Chen Cheng wasn't surprised at all that they sent children to give him gifts.

Many people have a major misconception.

They think that since the boss is so rich and lacks nothing, sending anything would be wrong.

They fear the boss already has it, or that sending a duplicate would force them to find a way to discard it, causing trouble.

So they simply don't send anything and don't even consider the matter.

With so many employees, if you don't give gifts and don't show your face, how can you stand out?

When something comes up, how would the boss think of you?

You still have to send them.

Sigh...

Chen Cheng was closer in age to these youngsters and could usually chat with them.

So it wasn't strange for the old foxes of these three families to send the three little ones.

There was no awkwardness of an adult giving a gift, only the festive atmosphere of younger brothers and sisters visiting an older brother for the New Year.

After chatting for a while, Li Na and Zhu Zhe came in from outside.

Chen Cheng was momentarily stunned. Why did these two come in from the courtyard?

He immediately realized they must have come down long ago and just went to the detached room in the courtyard to wash up.

Incidentally, they were creating the illusion that they had slept in that detached room last night.

When Li Na and Zhu Zhe entered together, Jiang Tianhao, Deng Xiaoqi, and Lin Miaomiao were a bit nervous at first, but they relaxed after a few sentences.

Li Na showed the three little ones what adult social skills looked like.

With just a few words, she had the three little ones blushing from her praise.

After chatting for a while, Chen Cheng felt a bit hungry and remembered to invite them to the dining room for breakfast.

Lin Miaomiao and the other two also ate some of the porridge Chen Cheng had cooked.

However, it was clear that none of them understood porridge.

While washing the dishes, Lin Miaomiao complained to the others, "New Year is so boring this year. Forget about the cinemas not being open, even the malls have crowd control."

Why was Lin Miaomiao washing dishes?

Because Chen Cheng offered a hundred yuan, and Lin Miaomiao happily took the job.

Chen Cheng's mouth twitched. If this was considered boring, then...

Li Na also raised an eyebrow and looked at Chen Cheng. "Will the situation in Jiangzhou affect the construction progress of the site?"

Chen Cheng was taken aback; that was indeed a possibility.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the workers at the Shanghai construction site came from all over the country.

Whether it was being unable to return to work on time or signs of an outbreak appearing on-site, it could lead to a shutdown and subsequent delays in progress.

Chen Cheng thought for a moment. "Communicate with Company Name. Once the site resumes work after the New Year, temporarily implement closed-off management for the park until completion."

"The server side cannot be delayed."

"Computing power is already seriously lagging behind the development progress."

"We can give the workers a lockdown subsidy or performance bonuses. You can send it directly to the site in the company's name."

"We need everyone to work together on this."

Li Na nodded. "Okay, I'll communicate with the project manager tomorrow."

Jiang Tianhao was a bit confused. "Brother Cheng, what construction site?"
