Chen Cheng looked at the starry sky without saying a word.

There was no need to think; the women at home knew all about the things he had done in Beijing.

Chen Cheng had no intention of deliberately hiding it either.

However, how could he possibly set a flag about this matter?

Everything else was fine, but if he encountered another doppelganger or triplet, how could he say he wouldn't go and hook...

Pah.

Not go and pursue beautiful people, things, and objects.

What the hell would be the difference between that and being a spineless coward?

Qiao Jingjing chattered softly in Chen Cheng's ear, and before he knew it, Chen Cheng fell asleep.

Seeing no response for a long while, Qiao Jingjing turned her head to take a look.

“Pfft~”

“This bastard~”

After a playful scolding, Qiao Jingjing turned on her side, found a comfortable position, and gazed intently at that handsome face.

Who knows how much time had passed, but a gust of wind blew by, and Chen Cheng suddenly woke up with a start.

Glancing at Qiao Jingjing curled up by his side, a doting smile curled on Chen Cheng's lips.

“This fool, she didn't even think to wake me.”

Chen Cheng took out his phone and checked the time. “It's already past midnight~”

Smiling as he spoke, he climbed up and carefully carried Qiao Jingjing back to the tent.

...

Chen Cheng stayed with Qiao Jingjing on the film set for three days before being driven away by her.

The two of them only spent one night in the tent on the film set on the first day.

After that, every day after filming concluded, Chen Cheng would pick up Qiao Jingjing and take her to a hotel in a county town over a hundred kilometers away to stay.

There was no other way; tents didn't have any soundproofing.

The director was also very sensible and didn't schedule any night scenes for Qiao Jingjing.

As for why Chen Cheng was driven away...

You can figure it out yourself.

Chen Cheng didn't go to Beijing; he went straight back to Shanghai.

Huaihai Road, Old Western-style house.

“Where did this dog come from?”

As soon as Chen Cheng got home, he saw Ding Jianguo sitting on the sofa, holding a small stick and training a dog.

Hearing the sound, Ding Jianguo's eyes lit up. She looked up, a curve forming at the corner of her mouth. “You're back.”

“Yeah~”

Chen Cheng nodded and walked over.

Ding Jianguo hesitated for a moment but still threw herself into his arms.

This girl had a noble and cold personality; it really wasn't easy to get her to take the initiative to embrace him.

She missed him.

As for the first time, she had been dazzled by Chen Cheng's stage aura and was completely conquered.

The two of them held each other tenderly for a while before Ding Jianguo ran to the kitchen to get Chen Cheng a drink.

Chen Cheng looked at the two puppies lying on the floor, then at the cat's nest, and couldn't help but chuckle.

Could this be considered ‘having both a son and a daughter’?

A black and white Border Collie and a liver and white Springer Spaniel.

“What made you think of raising dogs?” Chen Cheng asked, looking at Ding Jianguo.

“Hmm...” Ding Jianguo pondered for a moment. “Maybe I was just too bored. I saw them when I walked past a pet store while shopping and thought they were cute, so I had someone buy two of them.”

Chen Cheng smiled. “Then our home has both cats and dogs now.”

This girl was a typical rebellious second-generation rich kid, specifically one who had taken an artistic path.

She was very easygoing.

When she was in a good mood, she would sing and play instruments with Xiao Ye and the others.

When she was in a bad mood, she would just lounge around.

“What are their names?”

With a smile on her lips, Ding Jianguo beckoned to the little Border Collie. “Mocha, come here.”

The little Border Collie, which had been lying on the floor, immediately stood up and walked over.

Ding Jianguo then beckoned to the coffee-and-white patterned Springer Spaniel. “Latte, you come here too.”

Chen Cheng understood immediately; the names were based on the Springer Spaniel's coat color—the coffee series.

“Mocha is the older brother, and Latte is the younger sister. They're about the same age, both less than two months old.”

“Latte, Mocha, sit~”

Latte and Mocha immediately sat down on either side in front of the two of them.

Chen Cheng's eyes widened. Well, look at that—so smart at such a young age.

“Back up~”

“Back up~”

“Come~”

“Spin~”

“Shake hands~”

“...”

As Ding Jianguo demonstrated, Chen Cheng's gaze gradually became peculiar.

He glanced at Ding Jianguo; once it grew up a bit more, with a Border Collie's emotional intelligence, it would probably start looking down on this girl for not being very bright.

However, the Springer Spaniel was better.

Not only did it have an IQ comparable to a Border Collie, but it was also a little expert at emotional healing, with an EQ miles ahead of a Border Collie.

It could be said that whatever a Border Collie could do, it could basically do as well.

“Do you want to try?” After finishing the demonstration, Ding Jianguo handed the dog treats to Chen Cheng and looked at him expectantly.

“Sure~” Chen Cheng smiled and took the treats.

He casually picked up the two puppies.

Stroking them on both sides.

“These two are very active; they might end up wrecking the house later on.”

The smile on Ding Jianguo's face was clear, not worried at all. “I've already discussed it with Sister Zhenzhen and the others.”

“With so many people at home, we can just take turns walking them one day each.”

As she spoke, Ding Jianguo looked at the two puppies and threatened ‘fiercely’:

“I'll take you out for a run every day. Let's see if you two still have the energy to wreck the house then.”

A bitter smile appeared on Chen Cheng's face; the women at home had started raising pets.

That could only mean he wasn't spending enough time with them.

Single women, without a man's company or children—what else would they do but raise pets?

“Oh, right. I saw videos online; both of these can walk themselves.”

Ding Jianguo suddenly remembered the videos she had watched that evening.

“Besides, the yard at home is so big; even if we don't specifically take them out, it's enough for them to run around.”

Chen Cheng frowned. That was true; a Border Collie could not only walk itself but also help you walk other dumb dogs.

Like Huskies and the like.

And a Springer Spaniel could not only hold its own leash and go out to walk itself...

But after running and playing outside, it would even wash its own paws when it came back.

These two breeds, if trained well, are quite low-maintenance.

After playing with the dogs for a while, Chen Cheng went to check on the cats.

Only the two kittens were there; Orange was nowhere to be found.

But Chen Cheng didn't mind and fell asleep on the sofa.

That's just the personality of a Chinese Garden Cat, especially one that's free-roaming in a yard.

If you see a glimpse of it, it's because it's come back to eat.

At six in the evening, the house began to get lively.

Guan Juer, Qin Shi, Jiang Nansun, Zhu Suosuo, Xiao Ye, Lucy, Zhu Zhe, and Zou Yu all returned one after another.

When Chen Cheng went to accompany Qiao Jingjing, Zou Yu had already returned after buying gifts.

Today, she even went to the company to organize the backlogged files.

Chen Cheng played console games with Jiang Nansun and Xiao Ye in the living room, while Guan Juer and Qin Shi watched from the side. Zhu Zhe, Zhu Suosuo, Lucy, and Zou Yu were helping in the kitchen.

The house was filled with a scene of joy and harmony.

“Brother Cheng~”

Chen Cheng turned his head to look. “You're here too.”

Deng Xiaoqi nodded a bit shyly. “Yeah~”

Chen Cheng sized up Deng Xiaoqi; the girl's blushing was a bit unusual.

His eyes darted around as he looked at Jiang Nansun and the others, feeling very wary. “Are you guys colluding behind my back?”

“Do we need to collude?” Jiang Nansun asked back.

“Uh...” Chen Cheng was speechless; whether he said it or not, these women definitely had a group chat behind his back that he wasn't in.

Since Deng Xiaoqi was here, it seemed she had also been added to the group.

Qin Shi spoke with a beaming smile, “Hubby, aren't you going to explain... the child?”
