Chen Cheng looked at his sinister eyes and patted Guan Juer, who was holding his arm. 'It's fine, just stand behind me and watch.'

Guan Juer looked at him with great concern, her eyes filled with pleading.

Chen Cheng smiled, said nothing more, and pulled her behind him.

He sneered at Mr. Wei, 'CEO Wei, as such a big boss, how did you come up with moral kidnapping?'

'Since Andy doesn't want to see you, stop coming out to gross people out.'

Having his scheme exposed, Mr. Wei actually calmed down and gave a light huff. 'I didn't expect that Boss Chen of Company Name would actually throw punches.'

Chen Cheng shrugged. 'You bullied your way to my doorstep; do you really think I wouldn't hit you?'

Mr. Wei frowned. 'Your doorstep?'

'Pfft~' Chen Cheng chuckled. 'Doesn't CEO Wei like investigating people?'

'Since you managed to find your way here, how did you not know that Andy and I are not only old friends but also neighbors?'

The onlookers whispered to each other about the relationships, finally understanding the situation.

This middle-aged man was trying to use moral kidnapping, ran into the female lead's friend, and got beaten up by this tall, sturdy buddy.

This old geezer really is old and pathetic, and lacks any class.

The crowd whispered, and many started live-streaming the gossip in their green bubble groups.

This kind of gossip has its own market.

Especially for bored city dwellers who love reading gossip in chat logs during work hours, just to find some amusement in their drudgery.

'Neighbors...' Mr. Wei frowned deeply. He only knew Chen Cheng's identity; he hadn't investigated that Chen Cheng was also Andy's neighbor.

Actually, this wasn't his first time coming to Ode to Joy. He had come on Friday, but he missed her.

After work on Friday, Andy had gone to the western suburbs to keep her brother company.

After handling company business today, Mr. Wei specially rushed over and actually saw the lights on at Andy's place.

He hadn't gone directly to knock on the door; he guessed Andy must have contacted the property management, as he was stopped at the unit entrance.

Seeing his confused expression, Chen Cheng stepped forward and patted the dust off his shirt.

Mr. Wei looked unpleasantly at Chen Cheng's frivolous and disdainful action and shoved Chen Cheng's hand away.

Chen Cheng wasn't angry; he wore a faint smile on his lips, his voice very low, likely audible only to the two of them and Guan Juer.

'CEO Wei, if you choose to be decent, this matter will be considered over.'

'If you don't want to be decent, I'd be happy to play along.'

Mr. Wei examined Chen Cheng solemnly; he understood the ruthlessness of people in private equity.

If he went crazy, he might end up eating seafood for the rest of his life.

Chen Cheng didn't stop talking. 'I heard CEO Wei is doing hardware and daily necessities in the Middle East...'

Mr. Wei's eyes instantly turned cold. Being able to state his current business direction meant that he knew him very well.

Mr. Wei glared at Chen Cheng with a fake smile. 'What do you want?'

Chen Cheng smiled. 'Hey, that's not right. It's CEO Wei who needs to think clearly about what he's doing.'

'Women, after all, aren't as important as business.'

Chen Cheng raised an eyebrow. 'I might as well tell you, a very important investor in my fund comes from the Camel region.'

Mr. Wei suppressed his anger; the threatening tone in Chen Cheng's words was already quite obvious.

He gave a cold huff, pushed Chen Cheng aside, and left.

Chen Cheng looked at Mr. Wei's back and sneered.

If Mr. Wei had gone head-to-head with him, Chen Cheng might have respected him as a man.

Unfortunately, this person had the typical mindset of a small businessman: rational, pragmatic, and good at weighing interests.

He seemed to dress modestly, but every gesture revealed the sense of superiority of a business elite.

Superiority and snobbery consistently ran through this person's character.

He treated different social classes with obvious differences in attitude; he often showed disdain for ordinary people like Qiu Yingying and Fan Shengmei, while showing great tolerance for high-IQ elites like Andy.

It was the same for the rich second-generation, Qu Xiaoxiao; at first, they could play together.

Who knew that a game of poker would expose Qu Xiaoxiao's ignorant nature.

Qu Xiaoxiao didn't know Lady Macbeth, which led him to mock her and engage in a bout of intellectual bullying.

Like Zhao Qiping, he had a bit of that intellectual arrogance common to those who think they've read a few books.

When he first asked Andy to meet, he deliberately didn't drive, dressed modestly and plainly, full of caution and calculation.

As if he were afraid someone was after the money in his pocket.

He came to pursue Andy because he found that Andy had a superior IQ and outstanding ability, making her worthy of him.

Chen Cheng looked at Mr. Wei's back and sneered, then took out his phone and sent two messages.

People like this only learn their lesson after being dealt with.

And once you deal with him, he won't bark at you; next time you meet, he'll even greet you with a smile.

But the day he feels his strength is enough to deal with you, he will tear you to shreds by any means necessary.

Guan Juer walked over and took Chen Cheng's arm, her tone concerned. 'Brother Cheng, will there be trouble?'

Chen Cheng smiled and shook his head. 'He's a smart businessman; he won't do something stupid like injuring the enemy by a hundred while hurting himself by a thousand.'

Guan Juer immediately breathed a sigh of relief. 'That's good.'

'Alright, go check on Andy...'

As he was speaking, Chen Cheng saw Andy walking over.

'Look, your Sister Andy is here.'

Guan Juer turned her head and saw Andy walking over, then walked over with concern. 'Sister Andy, are you okay?'

Andy squeezed out a smile and shook her head. 'I'm fine.'

She had just hurriedly come out of the elevator and saw Mr. Wei leaving with his tail between his legs.

Chen Cheng called out, 'Alright, let's go back; don't let people watch the show.'

Once Mr. Wei left, most of the onlookers had actually left, with only a few middle-aged women still wandering nearby.

Andy smiled. 'Thank you, Chen Cheng.'

Chen Cheng raised the corners of his mouth slightly. 'We are friends; your business is my business, why thank me?'

'Friends...' Andy realized, her face instantly flushing red, and she rolled her eyes at him.

She pulled Guan Juer and walked toward the unit lobby.

'Goodbye, Brother Cheng.'

Guan Juer didn't forget to turn back and say goodbye to him.

Chen Cheng looked at their backs, shrugged, and walked toward the lobby of Building Eight.

He hadn't returned to Ode to Joy for the past week.

Something had actually happened.

Chen Zufa's marriage fraud was exposed, and the deceived bride, Yu Feixue, came to Ode to Joy to find Zhu Zhe.

It just so happened that Zhu Zhe was working overtime and hadn't returned to Ode to Joy; she had gone to Su River Elegance to take a shower and then turned off her phone to sleep.

Yu Feixue couldn't find her, so she insisted that Zhu Zhe had run away with the money with Chen Zufa.

The few people in 22 were worried about Zhu Zhe, so they compared notes and analyzed Chen Zufa's schemes.

Lucy had already explained everything clearly to the others; they would wait for Zhu Zhe to return before deciding anything.

But they couldn't stop the saintly person in floor 22 from sneaking off to tip off Yu Feixue.

She said that Zhu Zhe didn't sign the guarantee back then because someone had warned her about the pitfalls of being a guarantor.

Not only was she scared to death by Yu Feixue's cousin, but she also had to call Lucy to save her.

And just like that, all five people on the 22nd floor were dragged into the mess by her.
