"Miao Miao, what are you running for?" Chen Cheng called out to Lin Miaomiao as soon as he got out of the car.

"Brother Cheng... huff, huff, huff," Lin Miaomiao gasped, running over while panting heavily.

"Is someone chasing you two?" Chen Cheng asked with a slight smirk, watching Lin Miaomiao, who was hunched over with her hands on her knees, breathing heavily.

Lin Miaomiao waved her hand. "N-no."

At this moment, Deng Xiaoqi ran over. She wasn't panting as hard as Lin Miaomiao and caught her breath after just a couple of puffs. She said:

"Rui Rui just messaged saying you guys were almost here, but Miao Miao insisted on 'witnessing the birth of a superstar' and dragged me along."

Chen Cheng's mouth twitched. Lin Miaomiao really had a bad case of chuunibyou. "Oh, I see."

"Xiao Qi, Miao Miao," after Deng Xiaoqi finished speaking, Zhao Rui greeted the girls with a giggle.

"Rui Rui."

Deng Xiaoqi happily grabbed Zhao Rui's arm, taking the opportunity to step back and distance herself from Lin Miaomiao; this girl was just too reckless.

Watching Deng Xiaoqi's little maneuver, Chen Cheng found it harder to suppress his smirk than an AK-47. It seemed like the entertainment provided by Lin Miaomiao wouldn't run out before she finished her senior year of high school.

"Miao Miao, have you caught your breath? Once you've caught your breath, we'll go in," Chen Cheng said, looking at Lin Miaomiao with a chuckle.

Lin Miaomiao waved her hand, took a couple of deep breaths, and straightened up. "Okay, okay, let's go in."

Lin Miaomiao then spotted Chen Cheng's guitar case and immediately fawned, "Brother Cheng, let me carry that for you."

Chen Cheng shook his head helplessly, handed her the guitar case, and then took the lead, walking ahead.

Deng Xiaoqi and Zhao Rui exchanged glances, both covering their mouths to stifle their giggles.

As for Lin Miaomiao's severe obsession with idolizing others, the two of them were already used to it.

The moment Chen Cheng stepped into the recording studio, his heart rate suddenly accelerated.

This was his first time singing in a recording studio, so some nervousness was inevitable.

"Welcome, Teacher Chen," a gentle voice came from ahead.

Chen Cheng turned his head and saw today's recording engineer, Lin Yu, who was quite famous in the industry.

"Hello," Chen Cheng said, shaking his hand.

After arranging for the girls to observe from the control room, Lin Yu took Chen Cheng into the recording studio to get familiar with and calibrate the equipment.

After calibrating the equipment, Lin Yu smiled at Chen Cheng. "Don't be nervous. We've booked the place, so you can sing it countless times."

Chen Cheng's mouth twitched; this guy was cracking jokes with him.

Although this joke was a bit expensive—it cost one hundred thousand.

But the effect was quite good; he relaxed quite a bit immediately.

To release songs without showing his face and to avoid the risk of being harassed in the future.

For today's recording session, Chen Cheng chose to book the whole studio.

The few staff members in the control room had also signed non-disclosure agreements.

If it weren't for time constraints, he would have prepared to set up his own recording studio.

"Teacher Chen, are you ready? We can start the sound check now," Lin Yu's voice came through the headphones.

Chen Cheng took a deep breath, adjusted the microphone's position, and hummed a few lines softly.

After testing the mic, Chen Cheng turned to look at the control room and happened to meet the expectant gazes of the three girls. He smiled at them and then gave Lin Yu an 'OK' sign.

Chen Cheng took a deep breath and strummed the guitar strings.

"A car drives by after the rain, passing through the pale twilight."

"The old tin car heads south, the lover is no longer there."

...

For the first recording, Chen Cheng chose "Ideal Thirty," which could also be considered a gift for the three girls.

On another note, this song was relatively simple, with a steady rhythm and no overly complex rhythmic changes.

Even without god-tier singing skills, Chen Cheng could easily handle it.

Now, it was even more of a sure thing; it felt like a max-level character entering a newbie village.

In the control room, Zhao Rui and Deng Xiaoqi were wearing headphones, watching Chen Cheng in the recording studio, their eyes filled with infatuation.

After the song finished, Lin Yu didn't show any expression of surprise, though he did nod frequently.

For a first-time recording, being able to perform without a single error was already very rare.

"Teacher Chen, that was very good. I think it's already perfect. Would you like to listen to it?"

Chen Cheng nodded.

Although Chen Cheng already felt it was perfect while singing, since it was his first time recording, he decided to double-check it.

Compared to the original version, Chen Cheng, with his "Variable Magic Voice" and "God-tier Singing Skills," still made some adjustments.

In the verse, he appropriately added some tonal light and shade variations and brightness. By controlling the placement of vocal production and the use of breath, he gave the tone more layering, penetration, and expressiveness in its narrative delivery.

After listening, Chen Cheng was quite satisfied and waved at Lin Yu, signaling that they could move on to the next song.

Anyway, it would have to be recorded once more.

With the guitar as the main accompaniment, this take was for the instrumental track. Only after the accompaniment was recorded would the vocals be recorded, and then synthesized.

After Lin Yu made an 'OK' sign, Chen Cheng took two breaths and started the next song.

"Wandering"

"On the road"

"Are you going to leave?"

"Via, via"

...

Compared to the previous song, the difficulty of this one had clearly increased, but Chen Cheng seemed to be in better and better form, performing the song perfectly with ease.

Even that Rap section wasn't botched; it didn't need to be re-recorded at all.

As for the harmonies, there was no helping that; it was beyond human capability.

At this point, the recording engineers in the studio were looking at each other. Isn't this just a max-level character coming to slaughter the newbie village?

The breath control was too stable, and the voice was so clear. This song would definitely be a hit once released.

Seeing that the recording was finished, the three girls in the control room excitedly waved their fists.

Deng Xiaoqi's fair, apple-like cheeks were flushed with a rosy hue, and she watched Chen Cheng, completely infatuated.

Before the excitement of the three girls had even passed, Chen Cheng had already started the next song.

"Nothing can stop your longing for freedom."

"A life of unconstrained imagination, your heart is free from all worries."

...

"I once dreamed of traveling the world with a sword, to see the myriad flowers of the world."

"The heart of youth is always a bit reckless."

...

"The sunset on the horizon shines on my face once again."

"Shining once again on my restless heart."

...

"I am as free as the wind, just like your tenderness that cannot be held back."

"You push away my outstretched hands; go ahead, it's best not to look back."

Chen Cheng sang four songs—strategic partners of PetroChina and Sinopec—in one breath.

The people in the control room went from initial excitement, to being dumbfounded, and now to numbness.

The few recording engineers reached a consensus on one thing.

This is a pure max-level character.

Timbre, pitch, penetration, infectiousness, layering, emotion—everything is absolutely spot on.

You're telling me this is your first time recording? I'll beat the crap out of you, believe it or not.

If it weren't for the one hundred thousand yuan, Lin Yu would really want to curse.

While drinking water and resting, Chen Cheng listened to the songs he had just recorded again. At this moment, he had a brand-new understanding of his skills.

Not belting out high notes, not competing on raw vocal range or timbre—for a max-level character like Chen Cheng, it wasn't that there was no difficulty, but rather that the difficulty was minimal.

After chatting with the three girls for a bit, Chen Cheng returned to the recording studio.

It was clear that Lin Miaomiao was exceptionally excited, and even Zhao Rui and Deng Xiaoqi were ignited, currently acting as cheerleaders, rooting for Chen Cheng.

As soon as Chen Cheng entered the recording studio, the three girls excitedly waved in front of the control room glass, as if Chen Cheng had stepped onto a stage.

For the next recording, Chen Cheng chose to "fleece" Lei-zi.

"Draw a moon for the lonely night sky."

"Paint me singing under the moon."

...

Once he started singing folk songs, Chen Cheng couldn't stop.

"Southern Girl," "Thirty-Year-Old Woman," "Anhe Bridge," "Guo Yuanchao," "South of the South," "The Thief's Journey," "Lingering Fragrance."

When a transmigrator sings, how can they not "fleece" the original artists?

"When you walk into this place of joy."

"Carrying all your dreams and thoughts."

...

"Someone Like Me," "Untainted"...

As he sang, Chen Cheng himself got carried away, one song after another.
