Chen Cheng turned his head to look at Lucy, who was standing in front of Yu Chuhui.

"Who is this?"

"Oh..." Yu Chuhui finally found a way to resolve the awkwardness and immediately grabbed Lucy, introducing her happily:

"Lucy, let me introduce you. This is Chen Cheng. He lives right above you. He's a friend of Zhen Zhen's, and also my university alumnus and senior."

She turned to look at Chen Cheng, her expression no longer awkward, as if she were just introducing a friend. "Senior, this is Lucy, her Chinese name is Fang Zhiheng. She's also a returnee and lives right below you."

Thoughts flashed through Lucy's mind like lightning.

A friend of Ye Zhenzhen's? Above me? She didn't reveal too much on her face, instead offering a faint, professional smile and nodding slightly to Chen Cheng. "Hello."

Chen Cheng smiled, but since the friend from last night was still there, he didn't say much, just offered a polite, faint nod in return. "Hello."

"Lucy, Senior is also in finance. You might even be in the same line of work," Yu Chuhui continued, pulling on Lucy.

Before Lucy could speak, Chen Cheng feigned surprise. "Oh, really? That's quite a coincidence. Both colleagues and neighbors."

Lucy smiled. "It really is quite a coincidence."

Lucy was as cold as ever, and Yu Chuhui didn't think anything was out of the ordinary.

When the elevator reached the first floor, Yu Chuhui felt liberated and was about to rush out, but Chen Cheng grabbed her by the backpack.

"I'll give you a ride. At the very least, I'll take you to the subway station." No matter how much of a scumbag he was, he couldn't watch Yu Chuhui limp her way to work.

Lucy looked at their posture with a strange expression, forgetting to exit the elevator.

Chen Cheng noticed Lucy's gaze and said to her, "We're in the same line of work. Do you work at Binjiang Financial City? Can I give you a lift?"

Lucy felt a bit awkward, and her face flushed.

It was that kind of adult awkwardness: you walk into an elevator, there's someone inside who has pressed "-1F or -2F" and gives you a polite smile, while you sheepishly press "1F".

Lucy felt even more embarrassed now; she had been too busy watching the show and forgot to get out of the elevator.

By now, the elevator doors had already closed.

Lucy sheepishly forced a smile, looking quite composed. "Then that would be a bother."

It wasn't that she couldn't handle such awkwardness; it was just that she happened to work at Binjiang Financial City.

Moreover, she had a desire to investigate this man who had suddenly appeared.

The things she needed to do did not allow for suspicious individuals to be in her vicinity.

She wanted to know a little more about Chen Cheng, not just his name.

When they walked into the underground garage and Chen Cheng unlocked the car, Yu Chuhui ignored her pain and was the first to dive into the back seat.

Chen Cheng didn't mind Yu Chuhui sitting in the back and went straight to the driver's seat.

It was still that white alphard he had swiped from Old Tan.

Seeing this, Lucy had no choice but to sheepishly get into the passenger seat.

She couldn't just go and sit in the back, could she? She couldn't really treat him like a driver, right?

During the ride, they chatted a bit, then fell silent.

Yu Chuhui was going a different way than them, so she insisted that Chen Cheng drop her off at the subway station.

Chen Cheng didn't insist on taking her all the way to her company; there was someone else in the car, so he readily dropped her off at the subway station.

When the elevator reached the basement, Yu Chuhui figured that since it was a quick drop-off on the side of the road, Chen Cheng must have left. She turned and took the escalator up.

After coming out, she fished a mask out of her bag, put it on, and headed straight into the pharmacy by the road.

Chen Cheng had no idea why Yu Chuhui got out of the car; he was too busy enjoying the ride with the beautiful Miss Fang.

However, once Yu Chuhui left, things became a bit awkward in the car.

Chen Cheng would turn his head to look at Lucy while waiting at red lights.

He had to admit, she was truly beautiful.

In terms of looks alone, she was in a league of her own on the 22nd floor.

Her facial contours were clear, and her features were three-dimensional and exquisite.

Her high bridge of the nose and distinct jawline, combined with the cold look in her eyes, gave people the feeling of "strangers keep away."

But when she smiled slightly, the dimples at the corners of her mouth made her look a bit playful.

Lucy was wearing a simple commuter outfit today: a light blue shirt paired with a black slit skirt. A perfect combination of fashion and practicality.

She worked out year-round and had a great figure; she only needed to wear slightly tighter clothes to highlight her curvy physique.

Her moderately thick M-shaped lips, paired with dark red lipstick, gave the impression that she was a queen capable of controlling everything.

Chen Cheng spoke while driving, "Miss Fang, which building is your office in? Let me check the navigation."

They had already driven past two intersections; if they didn't talk the whole way, he would be bored to death.

Lucy looked at Chen Cheng with a faint smile at the corners of her mouth. "You should just call me Lucy. Calling me Miss Fang, Miss Fang, sounds weird. Our company is at Global Tower."

Chen Cheng's tone was indifferent, without a shred of sycophancy or fawning, as if it were just a neighbor giving a ride without any special meaning.

This feeling of not having to be constantly on guard made Lucy feel very comfortable.

Chen Cheng understood her and knew what kind of interaction was more appropriate right now.

For Lucy, who was currently covered in thorns, sycophancy and fawning would only trigger her defensive armor.

Being calm, on the other hand, would make it more comfortable for both of them to get along.

"Global Tower?"

Chen Cheng frowned. That really was a coincidence.

He hadn't expected that the company Lucy currently worked for was right below Zhencheng Capital.

If Chen Cheng being above her at Ode to Joy was because he had intentionally bought the 23rd floor after meeting Ye Zhenzhen.

Then their offices being on floors above and below each other was truly a coincidence.

"What's wrong? Is there a problem?" Lucy looked at Chen Cheng, puzzled.

Chen Cheng smiled and glanced at Lucy. "Zhencheng Capital, I wonder if you've heard of it?"

Lucy's brows tightened, and she pointed upward. "That private equity fund on the top floor?"

Chen Cheng nodded with a smile. "It really is a coincidence." He stopped at a red light and met Lucy's inquisitive gaze. "Let's reintroduce ourselves: Chen Cheng from Zhencheng Capital."

Chen Cheng, Zhencheng Capital.

Lucy furrowed her brows, silently repeated the two names twice, and then tentatively asked, "Are you a partner at Zhencheng Capital?"

"Yes,"

Chen Cheng nodded noncommittally.

Lucy was indeed quite clever; most people wouldn't have thought in that direction.

In reality, Chen Cheng didn't want to admit it either, but since they had already bumped into each other, if he didn't reveal it now, and she found out later, it would only make her think he was hiding things and wasn't being sincere.

When it comes to young ladies, we live up to our name—the main point is sincerity.

Lucy was somewhat incredulous. Hongtai Assets, where Lucy worked, was relatively close to Zhencheng Capital, and since the two companies were in the same line of business, she naturally heard some gossip.

The explosive growth of Zhencheng Capital was not as low-key as their style of operation.

Ten-billion-yuan public funds were everywhere, but ten-billion-yuan private equity funds were rare, and Zhencheng Capital was a rising star in recent years. They had never disclosed any new fundraising, yet their scale had grown nearly tenfold, almost doubling every year.

She just hadn't expected that Chen Cheng would be a founding partner of Zhencheng Capital.

Before this, based on Yu Chuhui's description, she had profiled Chen Cheng as a second-generation rich kid just like Ye Zhenzhen.

After all, having been in school for so many years, she had seen plenty of "friends" who were birds of a feather flocking together.

She hadn't expected him to have some actual ability.

"So you're a second-generation rich kid," Lucy said, looking at Chen Cheng with bright eyes and teasing him with a smile.

This was where Lucy was smart; she didn't immediately address him as "President" or "Director." A small, teasing title put them on an equal footing to communicate.
