After settling Zhao Yazu last night, Chen Cheng didn't sleep at all after returning to his room.

He took a shower and sat by the window, studying integrated circuit design.

He claimed to be a hands-off boss, but in reality, he was a control freak at heart.

I don't have to be an expert, but I must understand it.

Otherwise, I'd have been fooled by my subordinates long ago.

It wasn't until the first ray of dawn appeared on the horizon that Chen Cheng put down his computer.

He changed his clothes, kissed the sleeping Deng Xiaoqi, and went downstairs for a run around the nearby streets.

After another shower, he woke Deng Xiaoqi up, and they had breakfast together in the hotel restaurant before he headed to the construction site alone.

He didn't really have a purpose; he simply didn't want to visit any tourist attractions.

Watching the roaring bulldozers, Chen Cheng felt a surge of interest.

The drivers had gotten to know Chen Cheng during supper last night, so he didn't run into any trouble. He waved from the roadside, hopped into a cab, had the driver show him the ropes, and started driving leisurely.

After chatting with the driver and doing a couple of laps, Chen Cheng left.

"Come with us," Chen Cheng said, looking at Li Na.

"There's the engineering department, the supervision unit, and the design unit. There's no point in you staying here all the time."

At this moment, the group had met up and was having lunch at a restaurant.

Li Na immediately shook her head. "An investment of thirty or forty billion, not three or four million. How could I not keep an eye on it personally?"

"Giving up on in-house R&D?" Chen Cheng raised an eyebrow with a smile.

"I'm still working on the plan, no rush," Li Na said, looking at Chen Cheng with a smile.

"However, there is something else I want to discuss with you."

"What is it?"

"I want to find someone reliable to oversee the procurement department. Construction of the plant has begun, and the procurement of a large amount of supporting equipment is on the schedule."

"The volume of procurement is too large. I really won't feel at ease unless I find someone reliable."

Chen Cheng raised an eyebrow. "Do you have someone in mind?"

Li Na's lips curled into a smile. "As expected, I can't hide anything from you."

"I want Director Lin from Jin Chen to be the procurement director."

"Lin Dawei..." Chen Cheng thought for a moment. There was no doubt about Lin Dawei's character.

He had handled procurement at Jin Chen, but he wasn't cunning enough.

Yes... that's the word, not cunning enough.

When dealing with procurement and sales people, someone who is too upright is likely to get the short end of the stick.

Chen Cheng thought about it further. Lin Dawei could serve as the upright leader, setting the internal tone for the entire procurement department.

There also needed to be someone sufficiently smooth and astute to serve as the deputy to handle difficult suppliers...

Suddenly, Chen Cheng's eyes flashed; he immediately had a new candidate in mind.

With a smile on his face, he looked at Li Na. "I agree. I'll talk to Director Lin in a moment."

"However..."

"What?"

"We need to add a deputy position. Lin Dawei has great wisdom, but he's too upright, which might affect my efficiency."

"Okay, I'll listen to you," Li Na nodded after thinking it over. "I'll find time to talk to the current director."

Having managed the company for some time, Li Na had gained some insights; a combination of the orthodox and the unorthodox was indeed the way to go.

Chen Cheng's lips curled slightly. "That's not necessary. They haven't done anything wrong."

Li Na meant that she was going to fire the original director to make room for Lin Dawei.

"Just set up a separate department to handle the data center procurement."

Li Na's eyes lit up. Right, they could completely set up a separate department to manage it.

Wait... or even further, put the entire data center operation into one department?

If there's idle computing power in the future, they could even do computing power leasing.

Li Na immediately had a new plan in mind, but she wasn't in a hurry to say it. She wanted to think it through and have a thorough plan before reporting to the 'big boss'.

"Do you have a candidate for the deputy position?"

Chen Cheng nodded. "Yes, but it'll be a while. I'll talk to her next month."

Li Na looked at Chen Cheng with a smile. "Since you have a plan, I won't worry about it then?"

"Alright," Chen Cheng readily agreed.

The two people he had in mind both required him to speak to them personally.

In the afternoon, Li Na personally saw them off at the airport.

"You're the CEO. You don't have to do everything yourself, or you'll wear yourself out."

Li Na threw herself into Chen Cheng's arms, saying her goodbyes in front of the boarding stairs.

"I know. Once the piling formally starts in a few days, I'll head back."

"Regarding the autumn recruitment, I've already had the HR department make a new plan. It won't delay the establishment of the chip lab."

Chen Cheng stroked her silky black hair. "As long as you have a handle on it."

Then, Chen Cheng smiled. "How about I buy you a small plane?"

"Huh?" Li Na was taken aback. "Why buy a plane?"

"Since you love being so hands-on, I have to ensure the logistics are taken care of," Chen Cheng said, meeting her eyes with a smile.

Mainly because there are no direct flights to Shanghai from here, and flights from neighboring cities to Shanghai are also quite scarce.

Chen Cheng had already noticed this issue during his last visit.

Li Na had been flying all over recently, inspecting sites and suppliers.

Without direct flights, transferring between cars and high-speed rail is indeed too exhausting.

Li Na shook her head. "No, it's too wasteful."

Li Na's beautiful eyes glanced at the Big White toy in front of her, and a mischievous smile curled her lips. "If I need it, I'll just use this."

Chen Cheng followed her lead, smiling as he touched Li Na's glamorous red lips. "Alright, I really don't fly that often anyway. I'll have Zhao Yazu coordinate schedules with your secretary and have her arrange flight plans for you."

After saying that, he lowered his head and kissed her full red lips.

Jiuyuan Airport wasn't large, and there weren't many flights. Ten minutes later, the white big toy disappeared from sight.

Only then did Li Na call her driver and leave the airport.

Right now, this data center in the North of the Great Wall was her pride and joy.

She loved the platform Chen Cheng had given her and didn't want anything to go wrong.

She knew very well that Chen Cheng had high hopes for Boundary Exploration.

Chen Cheng had also given her unreserved support and trust.

What she wanted to give back to Chen Cheng...

Or rather, what she wanted for herself.

Within the next ten years, Boundary Exploration must be a top-tier, internationally ranked Artificial Intelligence company.

Jiuyuan isn't far from Beijing; forty minutes later, the plane landed at Capital Airport.

In the Vellfire, Deng Xiaoqi sat in the back row alone, pouting and looking a bit unhappy.

Chen Cheng sat side-by-side with Andy, talking on the phone with Lin Dawei.

"Is this appropriate?" Lin Dawei's tone was somewhat apprehensive.

Being within the Zhencheng system, he knew a bit about Boundary Exploration.

With the big boss personally leading it, its importance was self-evident.

Suddenly being asked to manage the procurement of supporting equipment for the data center had completely stunned Lin Dawei.
