Chen Cheng did not go to Qiao Jingjing's place in the morning.
Qiao Jingjing was playing solo queue to rank up by herself. She was making rapid progress; her solo account had already reached Gold.
Chen Cheng, on the other hand, went to Professor Ouyang's house, where the Old Madam personally cooked a meal to host him.
They chatted a bit about their recent situations.
Upon hearing that Chen Cheng would nominally be pursuing a doctorate under Li Fei next spring, the Old Madam's eyes widened in surprise.
Chen Cheng explained the Zen AI project again, and only then did the Old Madam let him off the hook.
Otherwise, she definitely would have forced Chen Cheng to pursue a doctorate under her.
As for asking Chen Cheng to go to the university to substitute for her, the Old Madam only specified the time and classroom, leaving everything else unsaid.
The general gist was that he didn't need to be restricted by the textbook; Chen Cheng could lecture on whatever he wanted.
At 1:30 PM, Chen Cheng appeared at the door of a classroom, dressed in a white shirt, black dress pants, and black leather shoes.
Professor Ouyang's student smiled and pointed to the classroom, "Senior, this is the one."
Chen Cheng nodded with a smile, "Okay, thank you."
The girl guiding him was a pretty young woman wearing round-rimmed glasses; she was a graduate student under Professor Ouyang and considered Chen Cheng's junior fellow student.
Chen Cheng raised an eyebrow, stepped into the classroom, and walked straight toward the podium.
Not far away, Zhu Suosuo, who was walking side by side with Jiang Nansun toward this direction, saw the tall figure just walking into the classroom, and her eyes lit up.
"Hey, Nansun, I think I see a Handsome guy."
Jiang Nansun rolled her eyes at her, annoyed, "Can we not just stare at Handsome guys every time we come to school?"
Zhu Suosuo didn't care, "If we don't look at Handsome guys at school, what should we look at?"
"University students, what a wonderful term."
Jiang Nansun's mouth twitched, "Aren't you a university student too?"
Zhu Suosuo shook her head, "I've graduated."
She tugged on Jiang Nansun's arm, "Nansun, do you know him? Introduce us, introduce us?"
"I don't know him. This is a public course classroom, and I don't know which department he's from."
Zhu Suosuo got excited, pulled Jiang Nansun toward the back door of that classroom, and said, "Let's go, let's go see first. Let your Zhang Anren wait a bit longer."
Jiang Nansun pursed her lips, feeling somewhat speechless, but what could she do?
Her best friend, she had to spoil her.
Walking into the lecture hall, Zhu Suosuo paused as she looked at Chen Cheng standing on the podium, and asked in a low voice, "Princess Jiang, are the teachers at your school all this young?"
Jiang Nansun thought about it, "I don't know. He might be a senior doctoral student; they might help their supervisors substitute for classes."
Zhu Suosuo thought about it, and it made sense. Weren't the doctoral and master's students in school just laborers for their supervisors?
Besides, she had heard Jiang Nansun say...
Zhang Anren was working for his supervisor, leading a few master's and undergraduate students to busy themselves with a bid for a Data Center.
The two didn't speak and just found a random seat in the back row.
Hearing the bell ring, the classroom quickly quieted down.
On the podium, Chen Cheng held the microphone, cleared his throat, and began to speak, "Hello, students. Let me introduce myself first."
He turned and wrote his name and non-work email address on the blackboard.
He turned back around, "My name is Chen Cheng, and I am Professor Ouyang's student. Professor Ouyang is on temporary leave due to health reasons. For the next two months, until the final exam, I will be substituting for this class."
The students below suddenly became a bit noisy, whispering and talking to each other.
The reason there were so many people in the classroom was entirely because of Professor Ouyang's reputation.
Now that the teacher had suddenly changed, who would still attend this class?
Some people were already packing their things, getting up, and heading toward the back door of the classroom.
That's how university classes are.
The students' legs belonged to them; what could Chen Cheng restrict?
Chen Cheng didn't mind and continued speaking.
"Professor Ouyang said that this course has reached Chapter 6: Specialized Operation and Mixed Operation."
"I took a look at this textbook, and the first eight chapters are all introductory content."
"I won't be lecturing on them; you can read Chapters 7 and 8 yourselves after class."
"In the class on the 11th of next month, we will start talking about interest rate structures and risk pricing."
An outgoing student shouted loudly, "Handsome guy senior, what about these two weeks?"
"These two weeks, we'll talk about something else," Chen Cheng smiled mysteriously, "so you can get to know my level."
"Lest some students turn around and leave right away."
A burst of laughter erupted in the classroom.
Several had already left. If it weren't for Handsome Chen's good looks, even more would have left.
"Before we formally begin, I'll set two rules."
"First, I won't take attendance in my class."
The students below immediately looked happy, "Really?"
Chen Cheng smiled, didn't answer, and continued, "Second, in my class, if you answer questions and I'm satisfied, you can come to me after class to collect a red envelope."
Huh? A red envelope.
The classroom was instantly in an uproar.
It was that same outgoing student who stood up and asked, "Senior, how big of a red envelope?"
Chen Cheng raised an eyebrow, "If you can answer questions every class, and your answers satisfy me, I don't think it would be a problem to stop asking your family for living expenses."
What? What?
The classroom exploded. There were quite a few people eager to try.
Chen Cheng waved his hand, and the classroom quickly quieted down.
The corners of Chen Cheng's mouth curled up; the effect was good.
"Today, we will talk about the three financial crises that have already occurred in America, and the crises that may occur in the future..."
Zhu Suosuo nudged Jiang Nansun, who was listening intently, "Hey, Nansun, this guy is actually quite capable."
"Even I, a tourism management major, am waiting to answer his questions."
Jiang Nansun smiled annoyed, "Money-grubber~"
Jiang Nansun looked at Chen Cheng, who was writing furiously on the blackboard while talking eloquently, and was a bit dazed.
"Suo Suo, have you noticed that this person doesn't even use a PPT for class?"
Zhu Suosuo was resting her head on her hand, admiring the Handsome guy, and turned back, "Huh? Does he?"
She took another look at Chen Cheng writing on the board, "Maybe he has a photographic memory."
Jiang Nansun's mouth twitched, "Zhu Suosuo, didn't you just get a boyfriend? You're swooning again."
"Pfft~ So what?" Zhu Suosuo didn't care, "It's not against the law to look at a Handsome guy."
"However, comparing them, I still like Mr. Ma more."
Jiang Nansun smiled and teased, "So this Teacher Chen isn't handsome anymore?"
Zhu Suosuo shook her head, "He is handsome. It's just that, Handsome guys, looking at them is enough; you can't eat them as a meal."
She shrugged, "Let's not talk about this."
"My dad is coming back."
Jiang Nansun raised an eyebrow, "Coming back to see you?"
"What is there to see me for? What's so good about me? If he sees me, he'll probably think of my mom leaving without saying goodbye again and be so angry he'll vomit blood."
"He's coming to show me his new wife."
Jiang Nansun paused, grabbed Zhu Suosuo's hand, "Is... that... a good thing?"
The two smiled at each other, and Zhu Suosuo pretended not to care and smiled, "It's a good thing!"
"I definitely have to wish him well. Wish him happiness, wish him joy. Wish him success in finding true love."
Clearly sensing that Zhu Suosuo's mood was off, Jiang Nansun began to comfort Zhu Suosuo, "My dad's true love is money, so your dad is better than my dad."
Zhu Suosuo chuckled, "Your mom is better than my mom."
Jiang Nansun widened her beautiful eyes, "My grandma treats your aunt well, so we can consider it a tie."
Zhu Suosuo refused to be outdone, held her face, and looked at Jiang Nansun haughtily, "I have Mr. Ma, plus one point."
"I have Zhang Anren, plus one point."
