"Ring ring~ Ring ring~"

Before the two could officially begin, a piercing sound rang in their ears.

"Wait a second~"

"Wait a second~"

"The phone."

Chen Cheng froze in place and frowned. "It's so late, who's calling you?"

Sun Xin's face flushed as she hesitated for two seconds. "Um... it might be my sister."

"But that doesn't seem right either. It's already one in the morning; she should have been asleep long ago."

Chen Cheng thought for a moment. "Then you'd better answer it."

After speaking, he didn't let go of her. Carrying her in his arms, he got off the bed and walked toward the living room.

With every step he took, Sun Xin trembled, hugging him tightly, not wanting to let go.

Chen Cheng sat down on the sofa, picked up her Chanel bag, found the phone inside, and handed it to her.

He accidentally caught a glimpse of the caller ID; it really was her sister, saved as 'Xiangxiang'.

Sun Xin took the phone and looked at it. "It's my sister."

Chen Cheng had a smile on his face. "Answer it then."

Sun Xin lifted her chin. "Then you're not allowed to be naughty."

"I've seen in movies that you men love to mess with women while they're on the phone."

Chen Cheng gave a wicked grin. "You've certainly studied quite a lot of 'materials'."

"Hmph~" Sun Xin gave a playful huff.

Her tone was a bit resentful. "Student Chen, I'm already twenty-seven years old, and I haven't had a proper relationship."

"I have needs too, okay?"

Chen Cheng chuckled. Meeting an old friend in a foreign land and having had a bit to drink, he really had struck gold.

Seeing her look conflicted, he said, "Hurry up and answer, it's about to hang up."

Sun Xin thought about it; calling at this hour meant there must be something going on.

She gave Chen Cheng a warning look and made a shushing gesture.

Chen Cheng nodded. "Don't worry."

This rogue promised readily enough.

Sun Xin was so startled she quickly covered the phone before even pressing answer, staring at Chen Cheng with wide, panicked eyes.

Sun Xin looked into his eyes for two seconds. Seeing his expression was normal, she finally breathed a sigh of relief, thought about what to say, and confidently pressed answer.

This was already the third call Sun Xiang had made.

"Hello~"

Sun Xin feigned a lazy voice, as if she had just been startled awake from a dream.

"Hello~ Sis, where are you?" As soon as she heard the voice, Sun Xiang's urgent voice came from the other end.

Sun Xin blinked. "Oh~ well, I'm at a hotel with a classmate."

"It's been so many years since we last saw each other."

"We had so much to talk about."

"After we finished singing, we just got a room."

On the other end, Sun Xiang's eyes widened. "Got a room?"

As she spoke, she glanced at Chu Xiaoyu standing outside the house, her eyes shining. "Male or female?"

Sun Xin looked at Chen Cheng and hesitated for a second. "What are you thinking? Of course it's a girl."

Chen Cheng wasn't happy to hear himself being called a woman, so he impatiently gave her two thrusts.

"Oh~"

Sun Xin immediately sucked in a sharp breath, feeling like she was passing out and her soul was drifting to heaven.

"Sis, are you okay?"

Sun Xiang's words instantly snapped Sun Xin back to reality. She hurriedly took a breath, forcing down the restlessness within her body.

"I'm fine, I was just dazed from sleep and strained my neck."

Sun Xiang was naturally a bit scatterbrained and didn't think much of it. "Then you're not coming back?"

"Yeah~ I've already been asleep for over an hour, so I won't be coming back."

As she spoke, Sun Xin frowned. "It's already one o'clock. At this hour, shouldn't you have been asleep long ago?"

"What made you think to call me?"

Sun Xiang smiled sheepishly. "Well... Chu Xiaoyu is here."

"I was already asleep, but he came over and knocked on my window to wake me up."

Sun Xin immediately became tense, and Chen Cheng could feel it directly.

"Um... what is he doing here so late?"

Sun Xiang glanced at Chu Xiaoyu, who was waiting anxiously outside the glass. "He set up some colored lights and balloons in that open space at the entrance of the alley. I guess he wants to confess to you."

"But you haven't come back yet."

“Uh...” Sun Xin looked at Chen Cheng with some embarrassment.

She only then remembered that she had silenced Chu Xiaoyu's calls.

She raised an eyebrow, a little angry. "What is he playing at? Tell him to go back quickly."

"It's the middle of the night; don't wake up Mom and Dad."

"Okay~" Sun Xiang nodded. "Alright, I got it."

"I'm exhausted. Chu Xiaoyu really is something, confessing without setting a time or place."

"Who just blocks someone's door like this?"

"Then you go to sleep, Sis. I'll go tell him."

Sun Xin immediately breathed a sigh of relief. "Then after you finish talking to him, go to sleep early too."

Before hanging up, she didn't forget to add an instruction, "Don't tell Mom and Dad that I didn't come back."

"Otherwise, they'll start interrogating me again."

Sun Xiang: "Okay, I know."

"Goodnight, Sis~"

Sun Xin hung up the phone and immediately let out a sigh of relief. Her whole body went limp as she leaned on Chen Cheng's shoulder.

Chen Cheng gave a 'huffy' thrust and asked, "Who is Chu Xiaoyu?"

"Mmm~" A blurred look flashed in Sun Xin's eyes. She thought for a moment and decided it was better to explain. "He's my childhood friend; we grew up in the same Hutong."

Chen Cheng: "He likes you?"

Sun Xin didn't hide it and nodded. "Yeah, probably."

"And you? You don't feel anything for him?"

Sun Xin didn't answer directly but thought seriously for a moment. "Hmm... I don't really know how I feel about him."

"If I say I like him, I certainly don't have that kind of impulse."

Sun Xin kissed Chen Cheng and continued, "If you made me choose between you and him, I would choose you without hesitation."

The corners of Chen Cheng's mouth curled up. "Why?"

"Well..." Sun Xin thought for a bit, "I'm a rational person."

"I'm a Sapiosexual; I'm more likely to prefer men who are smarter and stronger than me."

"As for Chu Xiaoyu, he's a bit immature, like a child. Or rather... well, even though it sounds a bit harsh..."

"He's a lost cause."

Chen Cheng smiled and shook his head.

Sun Xin was displeased. "What's with the head-shaking?"

"I was thinking, as expected, Simps never end well."

"He's still over there working hard to set up those little lights, getting ready to confess to you."

The corners of Chen Cheng's mouth curled up. "I'm also a rational person."

Sun Xin gave him a charming and flirtatious glare. "Why are you copying me?"
