Text To Speech

The wind, the grasslands, the sky, a mother, a gentle girl, a silent night—the imagery washed over everyone.

Chen Cheng used his natural voice, but his technique was maxed out. It was ethereal and transparent, like a gentle narrator singing softly in your ear.

Not only were Zhao Yazu and the yellow-haired youth stunned, but the surrounding diners also stopped their clinking glasses and lively chatter, looking in unison at Chen Cheng, who was singing with his eyes closed.

Some took out their phones to take photos, while others rested their chins on their hands, listening quietly.

"Ulaanbaatar's night~"

"So quiet~ so quiet~"

"The one who sings is not allowed to shed tears,"

"The one who sings is not allowed to shed tears."

The song ended, but not a single person around them clapped.

They all had their eyes closed, as if they were in that silent grassland, lying on the lush green grass, feeling the cool breeze, and looking up at the starry sky...

After an unknown amount of time, someone on the scene finally realized it was over.

They shouted toward Chen Cheng, "Handsome, what's the name of this song?"

"‘The Night of Ulaanbaatar.’ It's a Mongolian song; this version has re-written lyrics and a new arrangement."

Chen Cheng responded with a smile.

There were actually many versions of this song. Chen Cheng had thought about it for a long while before finally choosing the version by the chairman from 'Become a Farmer'.

The combination of Mandarin and Mongolian singing styles, along with the adapted lyrics, provided a stronger sense of imagery and storytelling.

Mainly, it suited his male vocal style.

It wasn't that he couldn't sing it in a female style, but if he did, he might be recognized.

The crowd also snapped out of it, and applause gradually broke out at the scene.

Chen Cheng took off the guitar and handed it back to the yellow-haired youth, smiling at his astonished face. "How was it?"

The yellow-haired youth regained his senses, swallowed hard, and without saying a word, took out his phone.

Chen Cheng waved his hand. "Forget it. Just help me settle the bill in a bit."

For the two of them, Chen Cheng and Zhao Yazu, eating beef and mutton head even in the North of the Great Wall wouldn't exceed three hundred yuan. The yellow-haired youth wouldn't be losing out.

"Alright~" The yellow-haired youth nodded, then seemed a bit hesitant. "Um... Brother, are you a singer?"

Chen Cheng had already sat back in his seat and shook his head. "I'm not a singer. I'm here to invest. Singing is just for fun."

"That's freaking awesome~" The yellow-haired youth immediately felt a surge of respect, giving Chen Cheng a thumbs-up. "As expected... the true masters are among the common folk."

Saying that, he picked up his guitar again and, as if possessed, blurted out, "Can you give me an autograph?"

Chen Cheng glanced at the guitar, which was already covered in signatures, and nodded. "Sure~"

The yellow-haired youth immediately got excited, turned around, and ran into the barbecue shop to borrow a pen from the owner.

Zhao Yazu stared at Chen Cheng with bright, spirited eyes. "My boss, do you have any other skills?"

"Hmm..." Chen Cheng thought for a moment. "Quite a few. You'll find out slowly in the future."

"..."

The corner of Zhao Yazu's mouth twitched. Look at you, showing off.

However, this guy's singing was indeed master-class.

"Come, a toast to my God of Songs boss," Zhao Yazu raised her wine glass, looking at Chen Cheng with a face like a blooming flower.

Chen Cheng looked at Zhao Yazu's flushed cheeks and then at the new bottle of wine that was less than half full. At this rate, this woman was definitely going to drink too much tonight.

"A toast to the beautiful Zhao Yazu~"

The corners of Zhao Yazu's mouth curved into crescents as she clinked Chen Cheng's glass and tilted her head back to finish the red wine.

After dismissing the yellow-haired youth, the two of them ate and drank until past two in the morning before returning to the hotel.

...

The next day at noon.

Zhao Yazu suddenly jolted awake from her dream, springing up from the bed in a startle.

Blinking her eyes, she hurriedly looked down at her chest.

When she saw she was still wearing the same nightgown from last night, Zhao Yazu immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Although as an intelligence officer she was mentally prepared for matters between men and women,

Being prepared and being willing were two different things.

Zhao Yazu looked around, confirming it was her own room, while her eyes darted quickly, her brain desperately trying to recall how she got back last night.

It seemed...

It seemed she was carried back by that man.

Then the front desk girl came up to open the door...

But... how could I have drunk so much?

Zhao Yazu swallowed, a wave of lingering fear in her heart.

In this kind of environment, how could she let her guard down?

Zhao Yazu thought for a long time and could only reach one conclusion: that man's alcohol tolerance was extremely high.

Moreover, he was extremely picky and knowledgeable about wine.

To keep such a person good company and improve their relationship, drinking a few more glasses herself became an unavoidable choice.

Thinking about it, a smile curved on Zhao Yazu's lips.

This social butterfly actually seemed quite nice.

He was handsome and could sing.

And... he wouldn't take advantage of someone in a vulnerable state.

Zhao Yazu picked up the phone by the bedside and glanced at the time, feeling a bit flustered.

It was already past ten o'clock.

Sleeping in on her first business trip with the boss...

Ah, this...

Zhao Yazu quickly switched to green bubble and took a look, immediately breathing a sigh of relief.

Chen Cheng had left her a message.

[When you wake up, have Lan Qianyi from Jin Chen make a plan for the things we discussed last night and submit it to the Secretariat. It needs a feasibility analysis, a specific timeline, and a risk control plan. By the way, have ZEN's Finance Center do a financial budget for this matter.]

Zhao Yazu replied to the message and immediately found Lan Qianyi's contact information in the system.

After handling all of this, Zhao Yazu finally breathed a sigh of relief, threw off the covers, got out of bed, and hummed a little tune as she went into the bathroom.

"There is a place far, far away~"

"Where there is... the heaviest... longing of a lifetime~"

"The children of the grasslands are carefree~"

"The sons and daughters... of the earth... drink and sing"

"..."

She seemed to be in a good mood.

More than half an hour later, Zhao Yazu changed into a yellow-green shirt paired with khaki cargo pants.

[There should be a picture here, summoning an Yan Zu who can post pictures]

Holding her bag and pushing her small suitcase, she opened the room door.

She happened to run into Li Na, who was coming out of the room next door.

A flash of surprise crossed Zhao Yazu's face, but she immediately put on a smile to greet her. "President Li~"

"Mm~" Li Na nodded. She was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt with white trousers, looking simple and capable.

"Where is he?"

Zhao Yazu didn't need to ask to know who this 'he' referred to. "Eleven said he went to the construction site early this morning to work with the laborers."

"Working with the laborers?" The corner of Li Na's mouth twitched.

"Yes," Zhao Yazu nodded. "He's driving a forklift to move sand."

"..."

Li Na raised an eyebrow; it sounded like something he would do.

"Eleven said..." Suddenly, Li Na reacted and turned to glance at Zhao Yazu.

Zhao Yazu was suddenly a bit embarrassed. "I drank a little wine last night and woke up late."

Li Na didn't say anything. It was true she was Chen Cheng's woman, but she wasn't Zhao Yazu's superior.

"Where are Andy and Xiao Qi?"

"They went to the scenic area to play."

"..."

The two of them chatted as they walked. When they reached downstairs and put the suitcases in the car, Zhao Yazu finally realized something.

Looking at Li Na, who was talking to the secretary in the distance, Zhao Yazu's face suddenly turned a bit red.

She herself had only woken up when the sun was high, but this President Li had also just come out of her room now; wasn't it the same?

She was so loud last night; she must have been exhausted.

Glancing again at Li Na's voluptuous figure, Zhao Yazu thought to herself, "Is that social butterfly really that amazing?"
