Chen Cheng’s lips curled slightly; he had thought it was something major.

He let go of the shirt, crawled to the head of the bed, and pressed the curtain switch.

The light in the room began to dim.

Chen Cheng didn’t stay idle either; he returned to his original position, reached out to cup Wang Manni’s fair face, and studied her.

Wang Manni blushed, not daring to look him in the eye. Scum Cheng’s lips curled into a wicked smile, and he lowered his head to kiss her red lips.

Experiencing this grand creation for the first time, Wang Manni struggled to fully handle it.

Her brows furrowed slightly, and stifled moans escaped her throat.

...

An hour later, the raging storm subsided for the first time.

Wang Manni’s eyes were unfocused, her cheeks slightly flushed, and she leaned into Chen Cheng’s embrace, content and lingering.

A few strands of sweat-dampened hair stuck to her fair forehead and the corners of her mouth.

Far from looking disheveled, it only added to her allure, like a ‘long drought meeting a sudden rain,’ the charm of having been thoroughly “spoiled.”

Her face was full of lingering desire.

Grabbing Chen Cheng’s hand, a flash of realization crossed her mind; only then did Wang Manni remember that she had been impulsive.

Watching her actions, Chen Cheng’s lips curled slightly. “No ring, no marriage.”

Hearing Chen Cheng’s words, Wang Manni’s lips instantly curved into crescents.

“Isn’t it a bit late to start thinking about this now?”

Wang Manni suddenly remembered Jiang Nansun, and her expression began to sour.

She swallowed hard, but still asked, “Then is Miss Jiang your girlfriend?”

Chen Cheng stroked her cheek. “Why ask when you already know the answer?”

The smile vanished from Wang Manni’s face. Deep down, she was still unwilling to accept it. “Then what does this make us?”

Chen Cheng’s lips curled slightly. “It’s just a bit of romance; why does it need to be defined?”

“Or are you saying that you intended to use what just happened to trade for something from me?”

“I’m not, I didn’t.” Wang Manni panicked instantly, forcing herself to sit up and look directly into Chen Cheng’s eyes, her tone somewhat flustered.

Chen Cheng didn’t scoff; he just nodded faintly, threw off the thin quilt, and rolled out of bed.

Seeing him about to leave, Wang Manni grew even more anxious, terrified that he would pull up his pants and deny everything.

She grabbed Chen Cheng’s large hand. “I really didn’t mean that.”

“I just couldn’t help myself.”

“Couldn’t help yourself?” Chen Cheng turned back, raised a finger to hook her chin. “So you’re just lusting after my body.”

A single finger—the gesture was extremely provocative, or perhaps contemptuous.

But Wang Manni didn’t dare to pull away. Blushing, she said, “I don’t know~”

Chen Cheng scoffed. “You really are a hypocrite.”

He released her chin and turned to go to the study next door.

He took eight or nine stacks of red banknotes from the safe.

He found a pair of scissors, cut off the plastic sealing film on each stack one by one, and threw them into a file box.

Afterward, he carried the box of cash back to the room.

Wang Manni, still sitting there anxiously thinking of a strategy, was confused to see him come out carrying a file box.

It wasn’t until Chen Cheng walked closer that Wang Manni saw the sea of red and white in the box, and her eyes went wide.

The large thing underneath that box, which stood tall and proud, and which she was both afraid of and obsessed with, seemed less conspicuous now.

Looking at the naked Wang Manni covering her chest, Chen Cheng said calmly, “How much money do you make a month?”

At this moment, Wang Manni had forgotten how to think. She swallowed, withdrew her gaze, not wanting to appear too out of control.

“It depends on sales performance. When it’s good, twenty or thirty thousand; when it’s bad, fifteen or sixteen thousand.”

Chen Cheng raised an eyebrow. “So you can save ten thousand a month?”

Wang Manni felt instantly embarrassed. My rent alone is seven thousand a month, and that damn landlord raised the price; it’s eight thousand now.

It’s good if I don’t have to max out my credit card every month.

Save money, indeed.

Ignoring her reaction, Chen Cheng raised his hand, flipped the box, and dumped the stacks of banknotes onto the bed.

Wang Manni’s eyes went wide, and she swallowed unconsciously.

“This is probably enough for you to save for a hundred months. I didn’t count it exactly; if it’s not enough, I’ll get you more.”

“Think about it again: does it still matter what we are?”

Wang Manni was full of shock, muttering, “A hundred months.”

Her eyes swept across the sea of red, and she swallowed again to ease her nervousness.

Oh no, it should be excitement.

She looked up at Chen Cheng, her eyes darting around, and she didn’t reach out to touch the bright red banknotes.

She reached out and wrapped her arms around his sturdy waist.

“I don’t care what our relationship is, and I don’t care if you’re married or have a girlfriend.”

“Anyway, from now on, you are my man.”

Chen Cheng’s lips curled slightly. “You are quite smart.”

“Between one full meal and a hundred months of full meals, you chose to be full forever.”

Facing the naked humiliation, Wang Manni couldn’t hear it anymore.

He gave too much.

Let him humiliate her however he wanted.

She even twisted her body while holding Chen Cheng.

The two ounces of flesh on her chest instantly brushed against...

Wang Manni immediately felt its awakening, and the flush on her face deepened.

Just then, a ringtone exploded in the silent air.

Hearing that it was her phone, Wang Manni smiled awkwardly, her eyes darting, and she explained to Chen Cheng, “It might be a colleague from the store.”

“I’ve been out for too long.”

Chen Cheng smiled faintly. “Then answer it.”

Wang Manni crawled across the carpet and took her phone out of the pocket of the pants thrown on the floor.

“Hello~ Assistant Manager.”

“Manni, where are you? A customer of yours was just here.”

“Seeing you weren’t there, they left.”

“...”

Wang Manni chatted briefly with Tracy and then hung up.

Turning back, she looked at Chen Cheng with a troubled expression and pleaded, “Can I go back to the store first?”

“And then I’ll come back.”

By now, Chen Cheng had put on his pants and opened the curtains.

Sitting on the chair by the window, looking at the scenery outside, he smiled faintly. “Alright, go do what you need to do.”

Wang Manni felt instantly relieved and smiled, saying, “Thank you.”

“Hmm?” Chen Cheng laughed, annoyed. That “thank you” was something else.

Soon, Wang Manni was dressed. She went to the bathroom to tidy up, ensuring her colleagues at the store wouldn’t notice anything amiss, before coming out.

She blinked at Chen Cheng and said, “Should I take these clothes back?”

She had only just realized the truth when she looked in the mirror earlier.

This person never really wanted to buy clothes from the beginning.

He just purely wanted to sleep with her.

And she had been so foolish, truly seduced by his apartment and his statue-like physique.

Chen Cheng waved his hand. “Keep one Italian style and one British style.”

“So you don’t have trouble explaining yourself when you go back.”

A smile instantly appeared on Wang Manni’s face, her voice sweet. “Okay~”

Afterward, she quickly went to the entryway cabinet to grab the receipt printer and POS machine she had brought.

Chen Cheng paid with his phone.

Wang Manni packed up the items Chen Cheng didn’t want and exited 1301.

Wang Manni didn’t have the nerve to pick up the stacks of red banknotes on the bed.

At this moment, Wang Manni felt somewhat saintly and Buddha-like, or perhaps conflicted and pretentious.

The aftermath of the adrenaline drop—regretting the decision made in a moment of impulse.
