One was a middle-aged man surnamed Tang who worked in import and export trade. He was of medium build and slightly overweight, but his stride was steady and powerful. People in this kind of buy-and-sell, middleman business all possessed clever and agile minds, and he was very talkative.

Another was a wealthy Southeast Asian Chinese lady surnamed Xie, whose family owned vast amounts of land locally, all used for growing coffee.

There was also General Manager Guo, a native of Hong Kong, who was young but highly accomplished. Like Old Tan, he was an outstanding member of the second generation. He held significant power within his family's clothing business.

The group chatted freely for a while about the current economic situation. This was a recurring event at this house of Tan Zongming's, and they would gather once every so often.

Today's gathering was specially arranged by Tan Zongming, knowing that Chen Cheng was coming. Firstly, to introduce some friends to Chen Cheng, and secondly, to hear Chen Cheng's views.

"General Manager Xie, you are in for a treat today," Tan Zongming said, sitting in the main seat, facing the wealthy lady.

"Oh, really?" A gentle smile hung on the lady's face.

"Little Chen just gifted me a bottle of fine wine today; shall we have a taste later?" As he said this, he exchanged a glance with Chen Cheng.

Chen Cheng had no choice but to smile along, though he didn't believe for a second that Old Tan would actually bring out that bottle to drink.

He figured that in a while, Tan Zongming would take a bottle from his own wine cellar, one that was decent in quality but not quite as rare, to serve as a replacement.

"That sounds great, I'll be benefiting from Chairman Chen's generosity today," the lady said, nodding as she met Chen Cheng's gaze.

Old Tan could call Chen Cheng 'Little Chen', but she couldn't. Out in the world, she was very careful to maintain appearances.

Knowing that Chen Cheng was the helmsman of a ten-billion-yuan private equity fund, she was even more eager to be friendly.

These people in finance all had plenty of cash in their pockets; who would want to offend a god of wealth?

When it was time to eat, Tan Zongming ushered everyone to the dining room for a meal.

"Ring, ring~"

Chen Cheng had just sat down when his phone rang. He picked it up and saw it was a call from Ye Zhenzhen.

"Hello, Zhen Zhen, what's wrong?"

"Um, we might have run into some trouble," Ye Zhenzhen said, her breathing rapid and her tone anxious.

"Take your time, don't be nervous." Chen Cheng's expression changed, and he comforted her.

"What's wrong?" Seeing Chen Cheng's expression change after answering the phone, Tan Zongming walked over, concerned.

"It's nothing, brother, you go ahead with things here." Chen Cheng pointed to the dining table, then stood up and walked to the outer room to listen to the call.

"It's like this: I took Rui Rui to the mall this afternoon, but it felt boring. Since I happened to be driving brother's car, I thought about going to the racetrack for a few laps. Rui Rui really wanted to go too, so I took her."

Chen Cheng's heart tightened. "Did you get into an accident?"

"No, not that." Ye Zhenzhen quickly explained.

Phew~ Chen Cheng immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Apart from life and death, nothing else is a big deal.

This was Chen Cheng's code of conduct.

"Continue, get to the point."

"Playing at the track went quite smoothly, but when we were leaving, we ran into a few others who were also there to race. They wanted to try out this car. Since it's not my car, of course I refused."

"This group didn't pester us at the time. But after we left the track, they kept following us, provoking us, whistling, and honking their horns."

Chen Cheng understood now; they had run into some petty hooligans.

"I'm fine, but Rui Rui is scared to death." As she said this, Ye Zhenzhen turned her head and looked at Zhao Rui, who was curled up in the passenger seat, her body trembling slightly.

With all that chasing and racing, driving faster and faster, wouldn't the Little Girl be scared to death?

If it weren't for the traffic lights, something would have happened long ago. Ye Zhenzhen had seen these second-generation hooligans before, so she wasn't that nervous.

But Zhao Rui hadn't, and she was scared out of her wits.

"Put Rui Rui on the phone."

"I have it on speakerphone," Ye Zhenzhen said.

"Brother Cheng, I'm h-here." The Little Girl's voice was still trembling.

"Rui Rui, don't be afraid. These petty hooligans are bullies who pick their targets. They probably think this car isn't yours, which is why they dared to provoke you. But they wouldn't dare do anything real, fearing they might actually offend the person behind this car." Chen Cheng's voice was crisp and clear, and the Little Girl immediately felt a bit more secure.

"Zhen Zhen, find a crowded place, park the car on the side of the road, and then get out and go eat." Chen Cheng smiled; he actually wanted to go see what kind of people were so idle. "Send me your location when you arrive, and I'll come over to have dinner with you."

"And just leave the car?" Ye Zhenzhen asked.

She knew the value of this car.

The car wasn't hers, and leaving it on the side of the road like that, if it got scratched or bumped, it wouldn't be easy to explain to Old Tan.

"Without the key, they can't exactly carry it away. If they want to take pictures, let them."

"It's okay, Rui Rui, Brother Cheng will be there in a while." Before hanging up, Chen Cheng comforted the Little Girl once more.

"Brother Bin, they've stopped. Should we still go over?"

At this moment, in the passenger seat of a black G-Wagon, a heavily made-up long-legged beauty asked the man driving.

The beauty was clearly a bit guilty.

"It's not easy to run into such a legendary car. And clearly, those two girls aren't the owners." The man driving replied with a smile, "It's fine, we didn't do anything, right? We didn't even run any red lights; what could they do? Don't you think?"

That was exactly his plan—to act properly and not actually do anything.

What could they do to him?

He didn't really want to do this, but seeing the legendary car, his hands were itching, and he just wanted to test it out.

Following the man's car were several others: an Aston Martin DB11, a black RS7, a BMW convertible, and a 718. They were all buddies and friends the man usually went clubbing and street racing with.

"What's going on?" Tan Zongming asked, watching Chen Cheng return after finishing his phone call.

"Just a small matter," Chen Cheng smiled, "I'll go over and handle it."

"General Manager Tang, General Manager Xie, General Manager Guo, it's really unfortunate today, let's meet again when we have time." Chen Cheng greeted them.

"Since Chairman Chen has business to attend to, let's meet another day. Oh no, I'll pay a visit another day, yes, I'll pay a visit," General Manager Tang said, standing up to shake hands with Chen Cheng. Of those present, he was the only one who had expressed interest in Chen Cheng's fund on the spot.

"Then I will certainly sweep the floor and welcome you, awaiting your arrival, General Manager Tang!" Chen Cheng responded with a smile on his face.

"Brother, I'm taking one of the cars from your courtyard."

"I'll have the driver get you the keys." Tan Zongming stood up to see Chen Cheng out.

Chen Cheng drove away in the alphard that had come to pick him up in the afternoon.

The people sitting in the dining room seemed to be clinking glasses and chatting happily, but in reality, their eyes were all paying attention to the movement outside.

When Tan Zongming returned, the lady surnamed Xie put down her chopsticks and couldn't help but ask, "General Manager Tan, this Chairman Chen?"

Tan Zongming was also an old fox; he knew what she was asking. With a warm smile on his face, he said unhurriedly, "Sister Xie, don't worry. My little brother just returned and hasn't arranged these small matters. But his strength is definitely not to be underestimated; otherwise, I wouldn't have introduced him to you, would I?"

"Later, you can look into it; the Zhencheng Capital in Angel City is also his."

Hearing this, the lady surnamed Xie felt much more at ease.

Chen Cheng, however, didn't know that Old Tan was sparing no effort to help him promote his fund.

When Chen Cheng arrived at the location Ye Zhenzhen had sent, he took a look and saw a row of luxury cars parked behind Old Tan's 918.

Without exception, every car had a parking ticket on its windshield.

Ye Zhenzhen had chosen a great spot!
