Chen Cheng curled his lips slightly. "Doesn't that suit you perfectly? That way you can 'rise in status through your son or daughter'?"
Zhu Suosuo smiled; he didn't forbid her from getting pregnant...
"Tell me, exactly how many women are you keeping?"
"You want to know that too? Aren't you afraid of getting jealous?"
Zhu Suosuo: "As long as you dare to tell me, this young lady won't be jealous."
Chen Cheng frowned slightly. "If we're talking about kept women, including you, there are four."
The two went down to the dining room. Chen Cheng placed her on a chair, and Zhu Suosuo raised an eyebrow and asked, "Anna?"
Chen Cheng went to get tableware to serve her soup, speaking casually as he did so.
"Anna was the first."
"And the second?"
"The second is named Fan Shengmei, and there's another one whose name is very similar to yours, called Zhu Shanshan."
Zhu Suosuo's eyes widened instantly. "What?"
"You and Shanshan are also..."
"Huh?" Chen Cheng frowned and looked up at her. "You know each other?"
"Gulp~" Zhu Suosuo swallowed. "She's my cousin, a few months younger than me."
This time, it was Chen Cheng's turn to be stunned.
The names were indeed very similar, and both were natives of the Magic City.
It seemed to make sense now.
Chen Cheng smacked his lips. It seemed this world had many relationships that the TV series didn't cover.
Chen Cheng smiled and handed her the bowl of soup. "That's quite a coincidence."
"Just like you, her biggest dream is to have her own house, her own home."
"I bought one for her, in the same residential complex we looked at yesterday."
"Ah?" Zhu Suosuo was stunned. "Then... that unit was actually for Shanshan."
Chen Cheng couldn't be bothered to tease her. "It has nothing to do with 1501 or 1502. I let Shanshan choose one in the second building."
"Phew~" Zhu Suosuo breathed a sigh of relief, blinked, and a smile reappeared on her face.
She chided him playfully, "You really know how to save yourself trouble, buying three units in the same complex."
Chen Cheng took a sip of the black chicken soup he had stewed himself and smiled. "I used to dream of having a home in every corner of the city."
"After I had them all, I realized that it's more convenient to live together."
Zhu Suosuo gasped. "You have them all?"
Chen Cheng didn't shy away and nodded. "Just in Jiangdong, including the one I bought yesterday, I have three places."
Zhu Suosuo smacked her lips and fell silent.
She suddenly felt a lot of pressure.
Chen Cheng raised an eyebrow and took his phone out of his pocket. "By the way, when you have time, go sort out the soft furnishings for 1502 and buy some furniture."
Zhu Suosuo watched him make the transfer, her neck stretching out. Looking at that long string of zeros, her chin trembled with nervousness.
Seeing him finish entering his password, Zhu Suosuo quickly opened her bag on the chair next to her and took out her phone.
"One million?"
Zhu Suosuo looked at the number in the dialog box and muttered to herself, her hand trembling as she clicked "Receive."
This was her first time seeing so much money.
Chen Cheng raised an eyebrow. "The time to test your ability to spend money has arrived."
"I don't have any requirements; I won't be coming over often anyway. Just don't make it too exhausting."
The ability to spend money? Did that even need testing?
Isn't that something anyone can do?
Zhu Suosuo's fair cheeks flushed red. She leaned forward, smiling, her face practically glowing.
Her voice was sweet and clinging. "Daddy~ Your daughter guarantees she'll complete the mission."
Chen Cheng's eyes widened; he almost got hard on the spot.
Truly intoxicating~
Just as Chen Cheng was about to put down his spoon and carry her upstairs, Zhu Suosuo suddenly exclaimed.
"Holy sh*t!"
Chen Cheng looked at her, waiting for her next reaction.
Zhu Suosuo looked at the seven or eight missed calls on her phone and swallowed nervously.
Several were from Jiang Nansun, and two were from Yang Ke.
Yang Ke would be easy to explain, but what about Jiang Nansun?
Just then, the doorbell at the entrance rang.
Chen Cheng looked up toward the source of the sound.
Zhu Suosuo jumped in fright and turned to look at Chen Cheng. "Who's visiting this late?"
Chen Cheng ignored her, took out his phone, and checked the surveillance feed for the courtyard entrance.
His expression suddenly became interesting. He looked up at Zhu Suosuo with a playful glint in his eyes. "It's Jiang Nansun."
"Ah?"
Zhu Suosuo was stunned. She froze for two seconds, then quickly grabbed her bag and the coat she had left on the chair that morning.
Holding her things, she looked at Chen Cheng, completely flustered. "What do I do?"
"What do you do?"
Chen Cheng looked at her playfully. "Is it that shameful?"
Zhu Suosuo shook her head like a rattle. "No, we absolutely cannot let Nansun know."
After speaking, she looked at Chen Cheng hopefully. "Do you have a back door?"
Seeing her flustered state, Chen Cheng chuckled.
"Oh, stop laughing!" Zhu Suosuo stomped her foot in embarrassment. "Just tell me if there's a back door!"
Chen Cheng shook his head. Zhu Suosuo's heart sank; if Nansun found out, how could she ever face anyone again?
Unexpectedly, Chen Cheng said calmly, "The dining room's backyard is connected to the front yard. Once Jiang Nansun comes in, you can just quietly slip from the back to the front and leave."
"Oh~" Zhu Suosuo's eyes lit up, and she prepared to run.
"Your shoes~"
Chen Cheng reminded her. Zhu Suosuo remembered that her high heels were still in the foyer and turned to run back and grab them.
She didn't forget to instruct him, "Wait until I'm hidden before you let Nansun in."
Chen Cheng watched her busy figure and smiled helplessly.
Mischievous thoughts stirred in his heart again.
One of these days, I'll have you sisters clean the windows together.
Let's see if you're still shy then.
The doorbell rang again, and Chen Cheng stood up to walk toward the door.
Walking to the door, he glanced back and saw that Zhu Suosuo had already grabbed her high heels and ducked into the backyard.
She was in such a hurry she hadn't even changed out of her slippers.
Chen Cheng opened the courtyard gate and stood in the doorway, waiting for Jiang Nansun.
As soon as Jiang Nansun entered the courtyard, she trotted forward, looking quite anxious.
Chen Cheng looked at her anxious appearance and teased, "Missed me so soon?"
Jiang Nansun rolled her eyes at him in silence. "Can you not tease me?"
Ignoring Chen Cheng, she went into the house on her own.
Chen Cheng was taken aback for a moment, then followed her inside.
He poured a glass of water, raised an eyebrow, and looked at the serious-looking Jiang Nansun. "What's wrong?"
Jiang Nansun took the glass. "Thank you~" She swallowed and gathered her thoughts.
"That..."
Chen Cheng sighed. "Can you just say it? Stop beating around the bush."
"Fine," Jiang Nansun pouted. "Maybe you guessed wrong."
"I just checked his stock account, and there's still over 50 million in there."
Chen Cheng was taken aback for a moment, then the corners of his mouth curled into a playful smile.
Truly a typical gambler.
Unless you put the evidence of his debts and margin calls right in front of him, he won't admit it.
Judging by Jiang Nansun's expression, Jiang Pengfei must have bluffed the whole family.
Chen Cheng smacked his lips. He really was inviting his own destruction.
A stock account doesn't prove anything.
It doesn't account for his bank debts, let alone his debts in the non-bank system.
Chen Cheng thought for a moment and said to Jiang Nansun, "Maybe I guessed wrong."
"Ah?" Jiang Nansun froze. Her eyes darted around, and she asked suspiciously, "You're not lying to me, are you?"
