The elevator reached the 12th floor, and Chen Cheng took a look around.
The residential complex where Li Na lived looked quite old.
The lights in the elevator lobby were yellowish and a bit dim.
Chen Cheng glanced left and right, found the corresponding door number, and rang the doorbell.
Before long, the door opened.
"You're here."
Chen Cheng's eyes lit up as he fixed his gaze on Li Na.
She wore a cream-colored textured shirt on top, but it was semi-transparent, with a black bra faintly visible underneath.
Her long hair was parted in the middle and fell naturally over her shoulders, her full red lips adding to her allure.
"Please, come in," Li Na greeted Chen Cheng while taking a pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet.
Chen Cheng smiled faintly, stepped into the house, and casually placed the flowers in his hand on the shoe cabinet.
Li Na naturally squatted in front of Chen Cheng, brushing aside a strand of hair that had fallen over her eyes.
From Chen Cheng's angle, this scene revealed her full hip line, mysterious peaks, and seductive red lips.
She was incredibly charming and soul-stirring.
Li Na lifted Chen Cheng's foot, took off his leather shoe, and slipped the slipper onto his foot.
Once both were on, she neatly placed his leather shoes under the entryway cabinet.
Standing up with a slight smile on her face, she said, "Take off your coat too. It's warm inside; I've turned on the heating."
Chen Cheng nodded slightly and spread his arms.
Li Na helped him out of it, sleeve by sleeve.
Chen Cheng felt a momentary daze. Why did she seem to have the air of a virtuous wife and mother?
Holding Chen Cheng's suit jacket over her arm, she picked up the flowers from the entryway cabinet and leaned in to sniff them.
A smile curled on her lips, her face full of joy. "They smell wonderful, thank you."
Chen Cheng raised an eyebrow. "I'm glad you like them."
On the way over, he had Eleven buy them from a roadside flower shop; he hadn't even gotten out of the car.
Consumerism tells girls, "Flowers are always the gentle light in a mundane life."
If you never send flowers because you think they're impractical or flashy...
...you might have already been posted on Xiaohongshu with a caption like 'My stingy boyfriend who hasn't even sent flowers.'
However, Chen Cheng also liked flowers—he just preferred "picking flowers" and "making honey."
Of course, these "flowers" weren't those flowers.
Li Na led Chen Cheng into the house.
Chen Cheng looked around; it was a small three-bedroom layout. The apartment wasn't big, but it was cozy.
The lights were dim and yellow, creating a somewhat ambiguous atmosphere.
"Please, have a seat," Li Na said, walking back after draping Chen Cheng's suit over the sofa.
Chen Cheng nodded, pulled out a chair, and sat down.
On the table, the decanted red wine, glasses, and cutlery were all ready.
Four or five dishes were set in the middle of the table: Big Bone with Giant River Prawns, Plum Pork Ribs, Poached Squid, and Stir-fried Greens. In the center was a Sour Soup Pot, with Yellow Catfish ready on the side to be cooked.
With a smile on his face, Chen Cheng asked suspiciously, "Did you make all of this?"
Li Na's face flushed with shyness as she nodded gently. "Mm-hmm~"
Chen Cheng smiled. "The variety of cuisines is quite complete. This poached style is from Lingnan, while the Sour Soup Yellow Catfish should be from the Jingchu region."
Li Na handed the poured wine glass to Chen Cheng. "I don't have much to do in my spare time, so I like to research food."
Chen Cheng chuckled. "No wonder your figure is so good."
A slight blush rose on Li Na's face. "Is it? I often see people online insulting others with figures like mine as 'dead fat...'"
Chen Cheng frowned. You're not being honest here, Li Na.
You must be feeling pretty good inside right now, aren't you?
Chen Cheng laughed helplessly and raised his glass. Seeing this, Li Na quickly raised hers and said:
"The first glass is to welcome the boss to my home."
Chen Cheng's lips curled up as he nodded. "Cheers~"
"Cheers."
Chen Cheng took a sip from his glass, and his eyes lit up. "California Napa Valley Screaming Eagle?"
Li Na was stunned, her face showing surprise. "Zou Yu said you were a wine connoisseur, and she was right."
"Such a rare wine, and you knew its origin with just one sip."
"Rare?" Chen Cheng smiled. "True, American red wine is indeed considered rare in China."
"But you've probably forgotten where I came back from."
Uh... I was so nervous I forgot this guy came back from Angel City.
Li Na's face flushed, and she looked a bit embarrassed. "Well, eat up. Try the food and see how it tastes."
Chen Cheng followed her suggestion and started digging in with his chopsticks.
The two chatted while they ate. Although the occasion was to thank Chen Cheng for helping her handle the old man's matter, neither of them mentioned him.
They talked about local cuisines and customs from various places.
Li Na was in her thirties; her life experience was richer than this life's Scum Cheng, having traveled to many places.
After several rounds of wine and tasting all the dishes.
Once they had finished eating, they moved to the sofa.
They watched TV while drinking and chatting.
Li Na was already a bit tipsy. She set down her glass, her face flushed red, and she brushed back a strand of hair.
Resting her chin on her hand on her knee, she turned to gaze at Handsome Chen. Her eyes were full of charm, and her tone was seductive. "You have so many women—do you mind having one more?"
Chen Cheng frowned and glanced at her, his heart unruffled.
From the moment Li Na invited him to dinner at her home, Scum Cheng had anticipated everything.
At first, he felt a bit stirred, but as time passed, he gradually regained his calm.
With a faint smile and a teasing tone, he said, "My secretary, are you looking for a 'promotion'?"
"Hmph~" Li Na let out a flirtatious huff and gave him a charming roll of her eyes. "Isn't this what you wanted from the beginning?"
Chen Cheng nodded noncommittally. "I might want it, but that doesn't mean I must have it."
"I'm a rational person."
Li Na's expression stiffened, but she nodded with a hint of admiration in her voice. "Sometimes, you really are rational to a fault."
Chen Cheng chuckled and shrugged. "Only by not letting emotions sway you can you make the most correct decisions."
A light flashed in Li Na's eyes, and a wicked smile curled on her lips.
She lightly bit her lip and winked at Chen Cheng, her tone seductive. "What about now?"
*Hiss~*
Chen Cheng's eyes lit up. When it came to seduction, no one could truly surpass Li Na.
He raised his hand to pinch her chin, a smile on his lips. "This is getting interesting."
"Just 'interesting'?"
Li Na wasn't satisfied. Steeling herself, she swung her leg over and straddled Chen Cheng's lap, looking down at him. "How about this?"
Chen Cheng couldn't help but smile, crossing his arms. "Have you thought it through?"
Li Na nodded without hesitation. "Of course."
Chen Cheng smiled. "Are you sure you can separate feelings from work and keep business and personal matters distinct?"
"You know I have many girlfriends, and as my secretary, you know all about them. You'll even have to prepare holiday gifts for them and choose restaurants for our dates. Can you handle that?"
Uh... I was so focused on capturing him that I completely ignored the fact that I'm his secretary and sometimes have to help maintain his relationships with his girlfriends.
Her eyes darted around. "There are downsides, but there are also upsides." She tilted her chin up, acting a bit proud. "Then the time I spend by your side will be much longer than any of those girlfriends of yours."
Chen Cheng was stunned; he actually couldn't refute that.
Indeed, where there is sacrifice, there is reward.
Scum Cheng's lips curled slightly. "What are you after?"
Li Na's fair, flushed face looked like it was about to drip with moisture, her eyes brimming with desire.
"I also want to try the feeling of you finishing your cigarette while I'm still smoking."
"...?"
Chen Cheng's eyes widened. What else was there to say? Time to start "smoking."
